No, it should be placed towards the end of the introduction paragraph, but in this particular study they tested for multiple aspects of bullying such as hostile work environment, genders, and exposure to workplace bullying. 5. How was this hypothesis examined in the study? Provide a brief description of the research design. 4 pts ANSWER The Hypothesis was examined existing research by investigating the effects of a hostile work climate with bullying, they also looked at genders differences in these association if the relationships between the hostile work climate and workplace bullying looks the same for men and women. 6. Is this research design best described as descriptive, correlational, quasi- experimental, or experimental? Why? 4 pts ANSWER This would be experimental due to the fact there are 3 variables being tested in this study. Focus on the construct you selected as it pertains to the hypothesis you focused on above to complete the remainder of this assignment. 7. How was the construct you selected operationalized in the study? Why do you think it is that scale of measurement? 4 pts ANSWER I would say it is nominal, ordinal with interval values. The reason being for theses choices that you can see in one of the tables there is a more natural relationship between hostile climate and exposure to work place bullying. Also nominal but in another table in this study is shows the numerical values of means, standard deviation and intercorrelations with the study. 10. What section (Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion) and subsection did you find the information about the operationalization of the construct? Is this where it should be, based on this week’s readings? 4 pts ANSWER You would find this information under the methods section of the study. Yes, because anything relating to measurement and construct should be listed in the methods section, describing how they used such aspects. 11. Describe how you could build on this research study, using one of the four strategies described in this week’s assigned readings. 4 pts ANSWER I would build on to this study by incorporating cases studies. Not only for people in Sweden but others around the world that have been a victim of bullying in the workplace.
