1 The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health: Exploring the Role of Technology in a Digital World Student name Institutional Date of submission
2 Through researching the impact of social media on relationships, I have selected five sources that will aid in understanding this complex topic. My focus is on how social media has affected the quality and authenticity of relationships, and my working thesis is that it has had a negative impact. To begin my research, I used keywords and consulted with a librarian to find credible sources ( Mari et al., 22). After using the CRAAP test, I have chosen an article, news article, book, article, and TED Talk that I believe will provide valuable insights. The first source is a scholarly article that offers a comprehensive analysis of the effects of social media on relationships. It discusses both positive and negative impacts and explores the psychological and emotional effects on individuals in relationships. My second source is a news article that presents real-life examples and tips for managing social media in relationships, making it accessible to a broad audience. The third source is a book that examines the impact of social media on the younger generation, providing insights into the long-term effects on relationships (Hava., 2021). The fourth source is an article that examines the psychological impact of social media on human connections and self-esteem in relationships. Lastly, the TED Talk offers a unique perspective on the addictive nature of social media and its impact on happiness and connections with others. Collectively, these sources provide a well-rounded understanding of the impact of social media on relationships. They offer various viewpoints, from scholarly research to personal anecdotes, providing valuable insights for my audience ( Hava., 2021). With this research, I aim to raise awareness about the potential negative consequences of social media on relationships and offer practical tips for navigating these challenges.
