2 Early Learning Standards As an early childhood educator, one of the first things I found dealing with young children was how vital it was for them to gain information via play. Through play, children investigate and understand the world around them. While working in the housekeeping department, George is developing a broad range of skills that will be useful in other areas. First, he is honing his social skills by interacting with his stuffed animals and the other little children nearby. He is improving his abilities to work with people, wait his turn, and convey his opinions. Second, he is developing and exercising his cognitive skills by designing a play scenario involving food utilizing his creativity and ingenuity. He is improving his capacity to understand circumstances and make decisions. Last, he is learning to communicate and characterize his actions via language. He is honing his speaking, listening, and semantic abilities. As an early childhood teacher, I can attest to the positive benefits of play-based learning for children's overall growth and development. Research has shown that play-based learning can assist youngsters in developing socially and academically (Drew, 2023). The educational technique known as "play-based learning" emphasizes children's natural desire to play to encourage development and learning in various fields. Play-based learning benefits children in various ways, including developing social skills, motivation to study, and verbal and numeracy abilities (Drew, 2023). The Child Study Lab at Arizona State University uses an Emergent curriculum in concert with the Arizona Early Learning Standards to ensure that children are school- and life-ready. The Arizona Early Learning Standards outline experiences that should be offered to young children to provide a sound academic foundation. Furthermore, the Arizona Department of Education's Early Learning Standards highlights the importance of dramatic play in children's emotional, social, and intellectual development.

Saracho presents a theoretical framework for grasping the commencement of a play-based curriculum for the very young by illuminating how newborn babies learn and comprehend concepts in a social and physical context (Saracho, 2011). Lively Minds promotes the Early Years and distinguishes between academic and intellectual goals for early childhood (Drew, 2023). The Child Study Lab at Arizona State University uses an Emergent curriculum based on the Arizona Early Learning Standards for school preparation and lifetime success (TeGrootenhuis, 2021). The Arizona Early Learning Standards were developed to serve as a framework for establishing successful preschool and kindergarten programs throughout the state. The Early Learning Standards published by the Arizona Department of Education guide creating engaging learning experiences for children ages three to five. The range of educational practices and parenting skills that the standards encompass is substantial. The criteria emphasize the importance of offering dramatic play chances to foster children's imagination, creativity, social skills, and linguistic proficiency. The Arizona Early Learning Standards were created as a baseline for preschool programs across the state to give every child a firm foundation to build a bright future. The criteria outline, using nine different indicators, the characteristics of an early childhood program that will aid in closing the achievement gap and laying the groundwork for children's future academic success. Children educated using an Emergent curriculum based on the Arizona Early Learning Standards will be school- and life-ready. In conclusion, programs for young children should promote play-based learning. Like many other young toddlers, George learns important life lessons via play.
