How much of this submission has been generated by AI? 0% of qualifying text in this submission has been determined to be generated by AI. Caution: Percentage may not indicate academic misconduct. Review required. It is essential to understand the limitations of AI detection before making decisions about a student's work. We encourage you to learn more about Turnitin's AI detection capabilities before using the tool. Frequently Asked Questions What does the percentage mean? The percentage shown in the AI writing detection indicator and in the AI writing report is the amount of qualifying text within the submission that Turnitin's AI writing detection model determines was generated by AI. Our testing has found that there is a higher incidence of false positives when the percentage is less than 20. In order to reduce the likelihood of misinterpretation, the AI indicator will display an asterisk for percentages less than 20 to call attention to the fact that the score is less reliable. However, the final decision on whether any misconduct has occurred rests with the reviewer/instructor. They should use the percentage as a means to start a formative conversation with their student and/or use it to examine the submitted assignment in greater detail according to their school's policies. How does Turnitin's indicator address false positives? Our model only processes qualifying text in the form of long-form writing. Long-form writing means individual sentences contained in paragraphs that make up a longer piece of written work, such as an essay, a dissertation, or an article, etc. Qualifying text that has been determined to be AI-generated will be highlighted blue on the submission text. Non-qualifying text, such as bullet points, annotated bibliographies, etc., will not be processed and can create disparity between the submission highlights and the percentage shown. What does 'qualifying text' mean? Sometimes false positives (incorrectly flagging human-written text as AI-generated), can include lists without a lot of structural variation, text that literally repeats itself, or text that has been paraphrased without developing new ideas. If our indicator shows a higher amount of AI writing in such text, we advise you to take that into consideration when looking at the percentage indicated. In a longer document with a mix of authentic writing and AI generated text, it can be difficult to exactly determine where the AI writing begins and original writing ends, but our model should give you a reliable guide to start conversations with the submitting student. Disclaimer Our AI writing assessment is designed to help educators identify text that might be prepared by a generative AI tool. Our AI writing assessment may not always be accurate (it may misidentify both human and AI-generated text) so it should not be used as the sole basis for adverse actions against a student. It takes further scrutiny and human judgment in conjunction with an organization's application of its specific academic policies to determine whether any academic misconduct has occurred. 2 Existential-humanistic Psychotherapies vs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Existential-humanistic psychotherapies are approaches to psychotherapy that combine both existential and humanistic principles to aid clients or patients in exploring and comprehending the meaning of their existence, the essence of their experiences, as well as choices available to them. These approaches employ a wide range of methods for case conceptualization, therapeutic aims, intervention plans, and research methodologies (Wheeler, 2013). They are basically united by a focus on understanding the human experience and concentrating on the patient rather than the symptoms of mental illnesses. In these approaches, mental health issues are viewed as emanating from the inhibited capability to make authentic, purposeful, and self-directed choices on how to live. Consequently, these interventions are geared towards enhancing client self-awareness and self-understanding (Wheeler, 2013). In a nutshell, these therapeutic approaches accentuate personal responsibility, freedom, and the search for meaning in life. Existential-humanistic psychotherapies exemplify a phenomenological viewpoint, valuing a person's subjective experiences and placing therapeutic alliances at its core. Additionally, humanistic-existential psychotherapy embraces holism by considering the interconnectedness of a person’s mind, body, and spirit. With a dedicated focus on the present, humanistic-existential psychotherapy cultivates self-awareness and self-discovery. The process gains prominence in this form of therapy as the dynamic unfolding of the client's unique experience. The most common types of Existential-humanistic psychotherapies include Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Logotherapy (Wheeler, 2013; American Psychiatric Association, 2022). Developed by Carl Rogers, person-centered therapy fosters a self-exploration focusing on the patient's innate potential for self-actualization, Desral Page 4 of 8 - AI Writing Submission Submission ID trn:oid:::1:2792050518 Page 4 of 8 - AI Writing Submission Submission ID trn:oid:::1:2792050518
3 therapy on the other hand, emphasizes the integration of fragmented elements of self. Existential therapy focuses on helping patients understand how they fit in into the world while logotherapy helps people find personal meaning in life. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is a form of therapy that helps manage patient problems by altering how they think and behave. It's a widely used method to treat anxiety and depression as well as other mental health problems. The foundation premise of this approach lies in comprehending the dysfunctional patterns that contribute to emotional distress and the perpetuation of maladaptive behaviors in people (Goldenberg et al., 2017). Its goal is to disrupt and alter undesirable cognitive patterns and foster healthy thought patterns and processes leading to desirable behavioral changes. Types of cognitive behavioral therapy include cognitive processing therapy, self-instructional training, cognitive therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, self-inoculation training, and dialectical behavior therapy (Goldenberg et al., 2017). The key components of CBT include behavior activation, cognitive restructuring to address maladaptive thinking processes and learning coping skills, psychoeducation about anxiety, relation training, and systematic exposure to feared situations (Goldenberg et al., 2017). Difference between Humanistic-Existential Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behaviora Therapy approaches The difference between the two psychotherapy approaches lies in their underlying ideologies and therapeutic approaches. Humanistic-existential psychotherapy approaches are more exploratory and patient-centered and focus explicitly on the subjective experiences of a person, personal responsibilities. as well as search for meaning in life. CBT approaches are more structured and goal-oriented, stressing the identification of negative thought patterns and working towards altering them to foster positive ones (Goldenberg et al., 2017). 4 approaches address immediate, symptom-focused concerns of the patient, making it a present- focused therapeutic approach. Humanistic-existential psychotherapy differs from CBT because it examines in-depth existential questions, exploring a person's unique journey and the human condition (Goldenberg et al., 2017). Lastly, in CBT therapeutic alliances are often more directive, where the therapist offers strategies and interventions, while Humanistic-Existential Psychotherapy approaches emphasize the collaborative exploration of the patient's experiences, making it different from CBT approaches. The differences in the two psychotherapeutic approaches will have a significant impact on my practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. CBT will be ideal for addressing specific symptom-focused concerns and providing evidence-based interventions in a time-limited manner. However, being a structured form of therapy, CBT would prove challenging for clients with a complex mental disorder (Goldenberg et al., 2017). Integrating Humanistic-Existential Psychotherapy elements in my practice would allow for a more exploratory and person-centered approach, fostering a comprehensive understanding of existential concerns, personal growth, and the search for meaning, thus it would be ideal for helping persons with complex health challenges that demand a holistic approach. The strengths of these two psychotherapeutic approaches would empower me to offer my clients comprehensive, patient-centered care personalized to their unique needs and preferences of the patient. Humanistic-Existential Psychotherapy as used in the Video The humanistic-existential psychotherapy was utilized with the patient in the video because it empowered the psychiatrist to explore the patient's subjective experiences, enabling the patient to confront existential dilemmas, and helping in deepening the patient's understanding Page 6 of 8 - AI Writing Submission Submission ID trn:oid:::1:2792050518 Page 6 of 8 - AI Writing Submission Submission ID trn:oid:::1:2792050518

5 of self (Bugental, 2010). Existential-humanistic psychotherapy approach helps persons discover their own uniqueness by acquiring greater awareness of themselves, as well as the world around them. Adopting this approach enables the therapist to assist the client by teaching them to see their resistance so that they may have a more meaningful existence. Therefore, this approach is in tandem with clients' needs for a therapeutic container to overcome an existential crisis, supporting them as they question and recontextualize their identity and worldview (Wheeler, 2013). The choice of humanistic-existential treatment is rooted in the belief that it offers an in- depth exploration that addresses the patient's existential concerns, providing them with a pathway for self-discovery and eventually enabling personal growth. Had CBT been employed instead of Humanistic-existential psychotherapy the possible outcome would have entailed symptom-focused interventions focused on managing immediate anguish. Nevertheless, the underlying existential and self-identity exploration needs of the patient would have not been addressed, inhibiting the depth of therapeutic effect and the long- term resolution of the patient's concerns. Since CBT is a structured and goal-oriented therapeutic model, it may not fully engage with the patient's existential crisis and the profound question of the patient's identity issues.
