Demographic Information of the Participant Quality of Life Inventory (QOLI) helps indicate the outcome of injuries on the brain. It helps determine the participants' psychological wellness by providing a score, where the person will identify whether he or she is suffering from psychological difficulties. However, for this tool to be used effectively, a questionnaire is developed where the participant is supposed to answer the questions. In the questionnaire provided, the following is my demographic information. I am Salama, a UAE national, and I am 22. Currently, I am a student at Zayed University. I am not married, and therefore, I live at my parent's house. Additionally, for this tool to be effective, psychological therapists must have some questions before the clients take the test. The following are some of the potential questions to be asked; 1. Do you suffer from a chronic health condition? If yes, how would you rate your condition on a scale of 1 to 10? 2. Are your friends, family, and other social relationships working effectively? How would you rate these relationships on a scale of 1 to 10 3. What do you aspire to become in the future? Are there goals that you are currently working on? 4. What do you think about your culture? Do you think it has an impact on your psychological well-being? 5. Do you feel the life you are living now is the best you have ever wanted? Are you satisfied with it? Information about assessment instruments and procedure QOLI is a vital tool used in assessing individuals' psychological status. It was invented in 1992, and Frisch and others believed that quality of life is directly related to individuals' emotional and psychological well-being. The tool entails some questionnaires that the participant is supposed to fill. The score of the answers is then calculated. A low-quality score indicates that the participant is suffering from psychological disturbances and he or she is likely to suffer from mental disorders in the future. On the other hand, a high-quality score indicates that the participant does not have so many psychological disturbances. QOLI comprises several items to be measured. The following are some of these items: the impacts of health on my happiness, the impacts of self-esteem on my happiness, how money is important to my happiness, how school is important to my happiness, and the impacts of social work on my happiness, among others. Therefore, these items aim to evaluate my health, self- esteem, goals, values, money, work, and play, and how they are important to my happiness. As a therapist, I must employ my skills when obtaining client information: 1. I will introduce and explain myself so the client can know me. 2. I will make the client understand the importance of QOLI towards someone's psychological wellness. After that, I will provide the client with the questionnaire and make him feel free to express his emotions. I will also give assistance and clarification whenever the client needs it. 3. I would review the client's questionnaire and calculate his score.
Here, I will tell him it's normal for a person to face psychological disturbances and make him understand that many people worldwide are struggling with it. I will then identify the psychological assistance to the client by identifying his psychological disturbances and how he can come out from them. Also, I will properly deal with his confidential matter and win his trust that I will not share with anyone else. Assessment Results and Interpretation I took the questionnaire where all the items were measured, such as the impacts of money, goals, and self-esteem on my happiness. Each item was given a score using a scale of -3 to +3. For example, the impact of money on my happiness had a score of 4, whereas the neighborhood had a score of 2. After taking the scores of the items, I calculated my QOLI raw score. In this case, a range of -6 to +6 was used to determine my QOLI raw sore. I scored 3.5, which means that my score was average. This means that my psychological well-being is average; therefore, I have a few psychological disturbances that directly impact my psychological well-being. Additionally, the score on QOLI on satisfaction was 76. The percentile score is 76, while the T score is 57. This means that I am average satisfied in my life. However, the QOLI factor scores change over time in relation to demographic and other mind injuries. Therefore, taking this test regularly will help me determine my psychological wellness and identify the areas that require improvement. Areas of concern I think, as a therapist, I would address three areas that play a critical role in QOLI scores: 1. The goals we set in life and what we aspire to become in the future. Some of the goals set are unrealistic, and therefore, if the client fails to achieve them, he or she will end up suffering from mental illnesses. 2. The area I would address is the impact of money on happiness. In this case, I would make sure the client can struggle, whereas, at other times, he can have it in plenty. 3. Self-esteem is another area of concern. In this case, the lower the self-esteem, the higher the chances of suffering from psychological disorders. Further Assessment The client's mental health history is an important assessment tool that can be used in detecting psychological disturbances. Other assessments, such as substance abuse, relationship dynamics, and cultural assessment, will be very important. These techniques help get much Information about the participant, for example, how he or she feels about his or her culture and where he or she sees himself in 10 years to come. Additionally, people with a mental health history are likely to suffer from mental illnesses. The economic status of the client also requires further assessment. Research shows that people with poor living standards have many psychological disturbances. Reflection
Other additional Information I need to know about the client includes the support system and the kind of relationship between him and family, friends, and other social networks. Secondly, I would like to know more about the client's education level. This will help determine the client's intelligence quotient and emotional intelligence on how he or she handles the struggles he or she faces in life. Finally, I would like to know about the impacts of the environment on psychological wellness. In this case, the client's safety and neighborhood quality greatly impact mental well- being.
