Jennifer and class- Great response! I like your detailed answer and the discussion regarding resilience. Resilience is a quality that we all have within us to a certain extent, but some of us have the ability to draw from it far more easily than others. However, it isn’t about trying to pick up and carry on no matter how we feel or trying to be an emotionless individual, or superhero. Instead, it is about comprehending why it is that we feel the way we do and then forming strategies to assist us deal with tough situations in a more effective manner. Resilience is imperative for us to possess as it allows us to stay on track towards achieving our goals regardless of the setbacks or issues that may arise that we must experience. A resilience scale rated highly by Windle, Bennett, & Noyes (2011), was authored by Friborg et al. (2003) as a self-report scale targeting adults. “It is recommended for use in the health and clinical psychological population” (Ackerman MA. , C. E. (2022, July 22). Having these necessary tools at our disposal can assist our clients and be imperative to the rate of success dealing with whatever situation that they are facing at the time.
