PSY 211 Module Four Activity Template In the Module Four Activity Guidelines and Rubric, review the Overview, Scenario, and Prompt sections. Then answer each of the following questions with a minimum of 2 to 5 sentences. Complete this template by replacing the bracketed text with the relevant information . Describe which of Kübler-Ross’s stages of grief are most applicable to Jackie’s situation. Explain your response. The best stage of grief for Jackie’s situation in my opinion would be depression. This is because she is happy that she raised a great daughter then feels regret for not giving more back to society. She even starts to question her religion and what is really in the afterlife while at the same time being happy she is out of a dysfunctional marriage. Explain how a person experiences Kübler-Ross’s stages of grief. Address the following in your response: o Does a person move through the stages in a linear fashion? o What have you read or experienced about grief to support your answer? No, a person does not have to move through the stages linearly. First, everyone will go through grief differently for example someone may only go through a single stage where whereas someone else may go through all the stages. Second people may start their grief at different points in the stages and end at different points or even circle back to some of them many times. I normally start depressed and then go to being angry whereas my wife will just be angry then she is fine. Explain why having a sense of cultural competence (empathy, respect, self-awareness, cultural awareness, communication) could help Jamie be a more effective caregiver. As stated by Papadopoulos Cultural Competence is the capacity to provide effective health care taking into consideration the people's cultural beliefs, behaviors, and needs. Having this in mind Jamie has 20 years as a caseworker worker dealing with a diverse client list. Having all that experience will give her the ability to help a wide range of sick people who are on their deathbeds. Given your unique needs, desires, and aspirations, describe some things that you feel will provide you with a sense of life satisfaction as you enter the later stages of the life span. I have always been in a working environment that is based around helping others. As I get older I hope I can sit back in my rolling chair looking over the family farm knowing that I have helped so many. I was able to give back to my community and possibly have made it to where order found their way in life if they were lost. 1
