constitutions? Please define separation of powers. Please define
checks and balances. Should the Texas Constitution of 1876 be
amended to increase the length of the regular sessions of the Texas
Legislature? Why or why not?
he definition of the Constitution is basic law of a state or nation.
The four key purposes of all constitutions are: Legitimacy ( government is morally fair & just),
Organizing Government, Providing Power, Limiting Governmental Power.
The definition of the separation of powers is a doctrine of constitutional law where the
legislative, executive and judicial powers are kept separated.
The definition of checks and balances is that it gives each branch of government their own
power to check in on other branches, so that one branch does not become to powerful.
The Texas legislature only meets once every 2 year for a span of 140 days. The Texas
constitution should be amended to increases regular sessions because it will give more
opportunity to to work on laws and regulations needed year round.
