TEQ (Terms, Expectations,
Questions)
Terms
What are three terms that are important to understanding the claim in this reading? These might be
central to understanding the reading, or they might be a common term that’s used in a new way. Offer a
definition or explanation of each term in your own words, and explain what is unique or important about
this definition.
Communities in Reddit are a social unit with shared socially interest on different topics
Instagram posts are content shared on the social media through a user’s profile
Instagram reels are a feature that allows users to create short-form videos that can be shared on the
app
Expectations
An anomaly is something different from the normal pattern: a black polar bear, a talking dog; a blood
pressure reading of 190/160. Anomalies are opportunities to make your own claim because they often
identify unexplained territories that are worth writing about. List four anomalies from the source. These
can be facts, claims, or relations, or information that is being ignored. How was each different from what
you expected? Where can you identify the gap in the map and further the conversation?
Instagram copying Tiktok
I didn’t realize Instagram copied TikTok since
Instagram was made before Tiktok.
Reddit can inspire people and answer variety of
questions
I always thought Reddit was mostly used for
gaming and stuff like if you needed help on the
game
Reddit has different communities you can join
I would like to hear about the other communities
but like I said I thought you can just search up
questions but seems like you can post for other
people as well.
What Instagram is
I feel like you can add more and explain more of
what Instagram is.
Questions
After you have carefully reviewed the source, ask useful questions whose answer might become your
claim. These questions should address the source’s assumptions, evidence, thesis, or issues that it
ignores. Where can you go from here?
I would want to know more about the reason Instagram started copying TikTok and if Instagram
copied any other apps.
What are other negatives of reddit?
Does one expressing/ posting themselves or things on
Instagram affect anyone?
