OPTION 1
What is the covenant obligation we make when we participate in the ordinance of the
sacrament? (see 3 Nephi 18:1-13).
The obligation we make when we take the sacrament is to remember our Savior Jesus Christ
and the suffering he went through to atone for our sins.
• How does our promise to remember the Savior help us to be more like Him?
Our promise to remember the Savior helps us to become more like Him because if we are
constantly reminded of the Savior, we will be more inclined to follow in His footsteps, and do the
things that he does, such as engaging in service, love of our neighbor, and sharing the gospel
with others. We can be more Christlike when keeping Christ in our thoughts, and I have seen
that to be true in my personal life.
• When is a time you remember where taking the sacrament was particularly meaningful
for you?
A
time I remember taking the sacrament that was meaningful to me was right after I was
baptized. Even though I was young, I still remember how special it was to take the sacrament
the Sunday after being confirmed and baptized. I was told that taking the sacrament was very
important at all ages, but after being baptized and being held accountable in choosing right from
wrong, the sacrament had so much more meaning and I think I will remember that feeling I had
for a long time.
