Research Paper: Personal Philosophy of Leadership Tyreek Brown Liberty University CJUS 610 5 November 2023
Vision Statement As an Army officer, my overarching objective is to lead a life that is centered on faith, purpose, and service. I foresee myself striving for self-improvement, fostering significant interpersonal connections, and effecting constructive change in the lives of others. I envision myself leading an existence brimming with affection and empathy, coupled with an unwavering commitment to a transcendent goal. Encouragement of others, assistance to those in need, and improvement of the world are my life's objectives. I envision a life governed by divine grace and imbued with unwavering faith in the divine purpose that he intends for me. I opt to perceive obstacles as chances for personal development and maintain confidence that my religious convictions will sustain me amidst the trials of existence (Kenney, 2019). I perceive an existence replete with meaningful relationships. I prioritize community, trust, and affection in my interpersonal connections. Throughout this expedition, my aspiration is to be a source of assistance, comprehension, and motivation for those in my vicinity. Promoting the practice of contemplating God's word and inspiring others to do the same will facilitate the realization of my aspiration to lead a life brimming with boundless triumphs and prospects. I have discovered that daily reflection on God's Word is the key to developing a victorious mindset. to perceive challenges and obstacles as opportunities for development and progress (Kenney, 2019). Stir within me a desire to act by implanting the word of God. Encouraging the spiritual development, self-realization, and abstinence from detrimental substances-related vices of adolescents across the globe by equipping them with the necessary knowledge, abilities, and formulas. to achieve international recognition and fame as a prominent
figure who promotes constructive transformation among youth and aids in the prevention of criminal activities (Kenney, 2019). Globally, my mission is to better the lives of ailing, destitute, disadvantaged, and illiterate children. Establish a non-governmental organization whose primary objective is to encourage youth engagement in diverse activities that contribute to both personal and societal change. As demonstrated by my research, the elements are both intriguing and gratifying to me. to incorporate my parents and other relatives, including my mother and father, into my future success and development strategies. Mission Statement The foundation of my leadership philosophy will be integrity, compassion, and a mindset that prioritizes the welfare of others over my own. I possess a cognizance that my life's mission is to effect positive change on a global scale and to establish an enduring heritage that endures for posterity. As an individual occupying a position of authority within the Army, it is incumbent upon me to foster the growth and progress of others by aiding them in acknowledging their own capabilities and helping as they surmount obstacles (Covey, 2020). My objective is to set an exemplary standard for others to emulate through consistent adherence to ethical conduct and support for others to do the same. My objective is to motivate and enable individuals to achieve their utmost capabilities through the establishment of an environment marked by trust, esteem, and candid dialogue (Covey, 2020). The aim is to inspire individuals to develop the attributes linked to successful leadership, such as humility, compassion, and a strong sense of direction, to promote their personal development and enable them to reach their fullest capabilities. The extent of my leadership legacy will be predicated on the enduring influence I exert on others, the quality of the connections I foster, and the impact I have on communities and individuals at large (Covey, 2020). One of the objectives I strive to achieve is to establish an environment where individuals feel valued, are empowered to exercise independent judgment, and are motivated to achieve optimal performance by cultivating a culture characterized by trust, esteem, and transparent dialogue. Individuals will have the capacity to develop and perform at their highest level if the environment fosters such behavior (Covey, 2020). As an individual committed to leading with integrity, my objective is to establish a community that can place trust in the judgments and deeds of the leader in whom I serve. This aspiration stems from my desire to be that leader. I recognize the significance of empathy in leadership, particularly because it enables me to develop meaningful connections with others, comprehend their perspectives, and help in their pursuits. It is not lost on me that empathy is a crucial quality in leadership. In my capacity as a leader, I am fully committed to continuous personal development and growth. Continuous education is, in my opinion, an absolute necessity for aspiring leaders. By being receptive to acquiring new knowledge, abilities, and experiences, I can consistently improve myself and inspire others to do the same. As an individual cognizant of the efficacy of
concerted endeavors in attaining shared goals, I attribute considerable significance to collaborative engagement and team participation (Covey, 2020). I can foster innovation and achieving success through collaborative efforts, owing to the diverse perspectives and capabilities that others contribute. Constantly, I must remind myself not to be anxious. "Do not be anxious about anything; rather, present your requests to God in all circumstances through petitions and prayers accompanied by thanksgiving." -Philippians 4:6 (2019, Faith). Openness, empathy, and selfless giving constitute the fundamental tenets of my leadership philosophy. I am driven by the desire to effect positive change and establish a legacy. To inspire and motivate individuals to achieve their utmost capabilities, I prioritize the needs and demands of others over my own. That will afford them the necessary autonomy to accomplish so. In the pursuit of fostering growth and development, establishing an environment characterized by trust, respect, and open communication stands as a paramount undertaking. A strong emphasis is also placed on continuous personal development, collaborative endeavors, and group effort in my approach to leadership. I aim to make a positive contribution to the communities and individuals we serve by conducting myself in alignment with these principles. As I advanced through the ranks of the Army, I consistently adhered to the biblical principle of "Do to others as you would have them do to you." Luke 6:31 (Faith, 2019).
Values Statement Respect is an indispensable component within the domain of interpersonal relationships and human interaction (Blanchard, 2023). No one will respect you if you fail to reciprocate it. Empathy is an essential quality that promotes deep interpersonal connections and enables one to understand the emotions and experiences of others. The significance of leadership is of the utmost importance when considering individuals, institutions, and the broader community. Integrity is a critical characteristic due to its correlation with an individual's credibility; an individual whose conduct, objectives, or goals are perceived as dishonest may have those aspects of their character questioned (Blanchard, 2023). Open-Minded: I desire others to perceive me as someone who is receptive to new ideas and experiences. I believe that innovation is vital because nothing ever remains the same, and it's also something I enjoy doing. Development and expansion are boundless in their potential accomplishments (Blanchard, 2023). "TRUST" is the most essential; living without it in the military will significantly complicate your life.
