DISCUSSION FOR SESSION 4 CRUEL LOGIC 2 Summary
The brief film "Cruel Logic" explores the limitations of the naturalist-evolutionary school of thought in a novel way. In the movie, a lecturer encounters someone who embodies the realistic perspectives on morals and decency he has been promoting, and things do not go well for him. "You see, opinions have effects."
Discussion
What are both worldviews presented in Cruel Logic missing?
The story "Cruel Logic" is an excellent example of how perspectives interact. An exchange between a poststructuralist professor and a centrist materialist is shown in the film to show the fallacy of both positions (Godawa, 2019). God's worldview is missing from this.
It is crucial to remember that both parties coexist in an environment that is thought of as being cruel. Among the essential components lacking from the two realms are sympathy, love, and affection in this world. This is demonstrated by the kidnapper's lack of any justification for not killing the professor. The professor instantly responds that it is illegal, to which the kidnapper responds that he has no intention of being caught.
Consider how the movie may have changed if a Christian, Marxist, or Pantheist had been present throughout the dialogue.
The Superficial Secularist lets his physical being dictate how he behaves. He would have touched him emotionally if he knew about God. God's love would have flooded his soul.
The Ten Commandments state in Exodus 20:13 that "You must not kill." Additionally, the movie DISCUSSION FOR SESSION 4 Had a Christian has been present, CRUEL LOGIC 3 would have been significantly altered since a Christian is aware of the distinction between right and wrong. A Christian is conscious of the consequences of his actions. He would be acting in a way that God would see appropriate if he followed the scriptures.
Because everything we say and do will ultimately be evaluated.
If a Marxist had been introduced, the scene might have been more tense. Marxist viewpoints are in opposition to what other people think. They address the problems around their beliefs with a reason and a conclusion.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is crucial to uphold the law since, in the absence of a supreme lawgiver, there cannot be
an ultimate good or bad; as a result, no matter how awful something may appear to be, it is neither evil nor good. Without God, neither ultimate good nor evil exists. As a result, these laws frequently depend on what the majority of residents deem to be right or incorrect. Furthermore, if evolution is true, we are
physiologically predisposed to act in ways that are consistent with our nature.
