Response Your post really touched me and I agree as I expressed that the video does have in- formation that education today uses. I appreciate the work you put into summarizing the video. I agree with you that teachers must be committed to all of their students, no matter the abilities or disabilities. That teachers need to give their students extra time to finish their work. Teachers need to give their students with disabilities time to respond and get their work done. Teachers have a great responsibility to care for and provide differenti- ated instruction to students with disabilities. Teachers should always be patient with their students and show their students love and create a comfortable environment when teaching in an inclusion classroom. I agree, this video is important for educators to see so that they can gain a better understanding on how students with disabilities understand, perceive and process. As educators our role as believers is to model God's grace. T reating all children with love, especially those that need extra care and love. A verse that comes to mind is, “And Jesus looking upon them said to them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26, American Standard Version ( ASV)). Educators need proper knowledge and training to understand the needs for children. When you believe in God and you have a strong relationship with Jesus and knowing who he is then you strongly feel that God will Guide you and show you the way, you just need to have faith. In the scripture, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 , NIV). In teaching children who are lower functioning individuals academically and behaviorally, I have witnessed people give up
on my students and see no reason to continue because they are not seeing immediate progress. I have learned that with faith in God, pouring love and patience onto my stu- dents I have seen progress but with everything; beautiful miracles take time. References Lavoie, R., & Rosen, P. (1989).
