The philosophy of John Dewey is referred to as progressive. He believed to gain experience; people should feed on their curiosity and investigate the unknown. Dewey asserts that one learns from their experiences and that experience is what teaches you. He is technically correct. We are aware of and gain knowledge from both our own and other people's experiences. When Christians think about what they want their children to learn, they say, "To love and serve God, to love thy neighbor, and to understand that God is the center of all things" (Cimpean, 2016). A lot of students see school as a place where they can grow socially and mentally. According to research, the only place where students can challenge themselves and set goals based on their abilities is at school. The current purpose of education is flawed. The world tells us to get an education if we want to be successful and earn enough money to buy wonderful things. But this simply isn't biblical. According to Cimpean, "the purpose of education is to form individuals who will serve and love God and his or her fellow humans." Many students can realize their full potential thanks to these established objectives. Based on my experience in this field and my opinion as an educator, I prefer to assist students in reasoning, and independent thinking based on what works for everyone and focusing on what is important in life (Cimpean, 2016). Some students place a high value on their own quest to discover their path, what interests them, and what is useful to them. I want to learn with God by my side because I believe in him.
From my perspective, education aims to provide students with new opportunities. The vastness of the world and all its wonders should be taught to students by teachers in a meaningful and effective manner. The purpose of education is to provide students with a means by which they can gain knowledge from their teachers and develop new perspectives on the world around them. Giving a student the knowledge, they need to make a lasting impact on the world around them is what it means to properly educate them. Yes, we must follow God's ways, but our Christian faith cannot completely overshadow our students' education. For our students to serve God and show their dedication to the lessons they have learned; we need to strike a balance between Christian education and Christian teaching. Students need to be allowed to express themselves and discover their passions.
