Kelcie Wing Professor Alfaro HTH-201 9/24/23 Dear sweet brother, First of all I hope you are well! I am so excited to come home and see you again so very soon! I am writing to you today because I want to share some theological concepts with you! I think that by sharing these with you we will be able to better understand why we are believers and also why we both want to go into ministry! First of all let me define what theology is and how it is apart of God’s revelation! Theology is the study of God. It comes from the Greek words Theos, which means God and the word Logos which means word. As you already know that is how we define the bible the bible is Gods Word. Thus making the bible how we see God interact with His creation. I think that the study of theology is a lot like the studys of philosophy, religions, worldviews, and many other things because it is a descriptive examination of ideas and their effects (Bird,M,2020,pg40). Oh and another thing! Theology as a spiritual disciple invites to see God’s divine design for humanity! It helps us when we are trying to figure out things such as His nature, why we exist, and the meaning of life. When we wrestle with these important things we can get to know who God is better and realize what he has planned for our life. When it comes to Theological sources there are three main ones. First one is the bible. The bible is God’s revealed Word and is what our theology is centered on. The Second is tradition. The traditions of the church play a very crucial role in molding our theological

Additionally, personal encounters with God can form our theology. The ways in which we encounter God play a role in how we view personal revelation of God. Our own religious journeys and how God has worked in and through our lives has helped is comprehend his character and his relationship with us and humanity. Also another thing I wanted to write to you about was being biblically faithful. Being biblically faithful means making a conscious effort in our views and our behaviors using the teachings in the bible as guidance in doing so. It is so important to filter our actions and choices through a biblical lens because that way we will make the right choice. Sure we are still human and mess up a lot but that’s what Gods underserving grace and forgiveness is for! Now lets talk why Theology is required! Theology is not something that only a few of us are supposed to pursue and dive deep into but in fact it is something that we all should pursue as believers. As you know we learn more about God and also about His truth though theology. The more we gain wisdom about who Christ is and that helps us create a solid foundation in our faith and on him through faith. Finally it is important discipline that lets us get to know the essence of the one true God, His one true plan for humanity, and His revelation. With tis we can grow our faith deeper and connect ourselves to biblical principles and better fulfill our calling as His disciples by engaging in this discipline!
Kelcie Wing Professor Alfaro HTH-201 9/24/23 Well I am so glad I got to write to you Aaron and I am excited to hear your thoughts and perspectives on this little bro! Love you lots!
