Please describe in 200-250 words why you desire to become a counselor and indicate the type of
counselor certification you plan to seek after graduation.
Becoming a counselor aligns with Gods will by exhibiting compassion, fostering hope, respect,
and a form of moral guidance. Providing counseling allows me to put my spiritual beliefs into practice by
assisting others in their quest for emotional and psychological health, thereby fostering the greater good
and embodying divine attributes like love and understanding.
I feel called to the field of counseling because of my strong and unwavering commitment to
assisting individuals in navigating the intricate landscape of their emotions, relationships, and personal
development. Throughout my life, I’ve been drawn to listening, supporting, and empathizing with others
during their moments of vulnerability. These experiences have instilled in me a profound sense of
purpose and fulfillment that I believe can be channeled into a meaningful career as a counselor.
Because scripture can be a valuable tool in the foundation of being a counselor, it is important
that I have a career that aligns with Gods characteristics. Counseling provides ethical guidance, wisdom,
values, empathy, and hope that can enhance the counseling process and contribute to clients' well-
being.
Pursuing a counseling career with a biblical foundation will allow me to put my beliefs into
practice.
