Ethical Reasoning Case Study
I feel they cannot handle the suffering and pressure that comes with it. The toughest
thing to witness, in my opinion, is their loved one dying all the while being subjected to suffering.
Given that this woman has a terminal illness and the expense of caring for her must be
considered, it would be appropriate to end her life. Most patients with similar conditions commit
themselves so as not to trouble their families any further. Euthanasia will not be considered a
conflict of interest legally since it is carried out with both parties’ consent and in some
jurisdictions are simple to accomplish.
The search for new treatments and cures for chronically sick people may be discouraged
if euthanasia turns out to be a commercially sustainable option for the treatment. People now
realize that both sides have powerful arguments. The question of whether euthanasia is good or
bad does not seem to have a clear-cut answer. Euthanasia is the act of killing someone without
considering their inherent value or dignity. The conclusion that something with intrinsic value
nevertheless, lacks value contradicts logic as well as morality. Euthanasia is fundamentally at
odds with such a doctor's duty to treat patients, would be difficult or impossible to administer,
and would present significant societal concerns. It would be simple to legalize euthanasia for
individuals who are incapable of thinking as well as other disadvantaged populations. a quick or
painless demise, or the deliberate taking of life somewhere at the request of a person with a
difficult and terminal illness. Generally characterized as mercy killing.(Cirone, 2023)
I would be sure to inform her of her options before deciding whether to keep her alive or
put an end to it. Since it is her life, after all, I will respect her decision as well. I would not be
responsible for her care if she went to some other doctor to start the same treatment because I
would be responsible for it at that time.
