Liberty University Campus Culture Capitalism Formal Formal Blended Blended Blended In your own words, explain how you see each system at Liberty University · Economic/capitalism – Liberty culture is socialist culture. An example of this is because each student must pay for their own classes and meal plan. Each student also is the one who must take care of themselves. · Legal/I Formal – Liberty culture is both informal and formal. There is a written “Liberty way” that students must follow which makes it formal. There are consequences if the Liberty way is broken. · Education/Formal - Liberty is a formal education system. · Family/Nuclear and Kindship – Liberty has a blended family system. Liberty can be nuclear because roommates are considered “the norm” at Liberty. However, it is also kinship because of the leadership roles on the hall. RA’s, RSs, and CGL’s all act as “older” generation family members. · Religious/ Rational and Mystical – Liberty is a blended religious system. As a Christian university we follow the words of the Bible. The Bible and the stories have foundational evidence making it rational. However, on campus prayer is something emphasized and practiced, this concept is more mystical. · Artistic/ Clear and Fluid – Liberty is a blended artistic system. If you look at the streets and the paths of
campus. The campuses layout is very clear. However, the halls are much more fluid. The halls are everyone for themselves and there is no structure. 1. What are the similarities between each cluster?
