UNV-103 Topic 7 Ensuring Future Success
During the past few weeks, you have had the opportunity to develop a plan for success as a
student here at GCU and beyond graduation. Analyze your academic, spiritual, and career goals
from Topic 4 Purpose Plan. Complete the following prompts directly on this document—the
boxes will expand as needed.
Based on your analysis, in 75-100 words total, describe what three action steps you will need to
take in order to achieve your academic goals.
1. I plan to maintain and strengthen my academic schedule to stay on track in completing my
current degree program.
2. I want to place a stronger emphasis on proactively working and staying ahead in each of my
courses. I can do this by completing extra coursework on my days off.
3. I intend to follow up on my graded assignments and feedback from my instructor. Reading
through the feedback on my written assignments and discussions can provide me with needed
suggestions to improve my writing.
Based on your analysis, in 75-100 words total, describe what three action steps you will need to
take in order to achieve your spiritual goals.
1.
Continuing my volunteer work with my local ministry is the bare minimum I will need
to achieve my spiritual goals. By growing my home church, I can ensure their place as
a pillar in our community.
2.
Getting more involved in worship services rather than just providing assistance in
setting up and providing resources is another way to achieve my goals.
3.
Reaching out, whether via internet or forums, and coordinating with other Christins
nationwide or globally to create a larger worship group.
Based on your analysis, in 75-100 words total, describe what three action steps you will need to
take in order to achieve your career goals.
1.
Begin participation in internships to gain references and experience that may be useful
in the future . Also continuing my volunteer work and logging any progress I gain in
doing so, to use as future reference/experience.
2.
I can begin looking at future job opportunities and begin making new relationships
through my volunteer work.
3.
Looking at going into a Masters Program to further my education. This may also open
more job opportunities not accessible by a Bachelor's degree, and can lead to a larger
salary.
How well are you working towards achieving your academic, spiritual, and career goals?
Explain. What changes might you make? (75-100 words total)
1. Academic Goals -Staying on track with my academic schedule will be the best way to
achieve my academic goals. I intend to continue sticking to the scheduling and time
management learned from this class.
2. Spiritual Goals - I feel I can work harder on my spirituality. I don't attend church as much as
I used to anymore. I do volunteer for different events and outreach gatherings. I want to
change my schedule and make more time for bible study and worship.
3. Career Goals - Currently I am on track to get my Bachelors degree from GCU. Ultimately, I
intend to seek a case worker position or counselor position at a mental health facility. One
change I can make to my career plan is to open the possibility of obtaining my masters in the
Psychology field as well.
Describe HOW you will know you are achieving your goals. (75-100 words total)
1. Academic Goals - Academically, I will have achieved my Bachelors degree.
2. Spiritual Goals - I will know how well I am doing spiritually by my consistency. How well I
stay in touch with church members. Also, by how often I pray, read and study my bible.
3. Career Goals - I will know when I’ve achieved my career goals when I find a position or am
in the process of getting on boarded at a desired institution.
