I think GCU’s Christian heritage makes the GCU academic experience different than at a non-faith-based university by focusing on faith and God to install a student with values that focus on placing other’s needs and interest before their own interests and needs. A non-faith-based university typically just focuses on academic
excellence through education instead of through faith. GCU installs students with a Christian worldview and accepts all individuals no matter what the individual’s background is or whatever beliefs they may have. GCU encourages students to live out a vocational purpose that enables them to be thinkers that are innovative, enables them to communicate in an effective manner, and to be global contributors
and transformative leaders who can change different communities. The value that this difference will add to my educational experience is by allowing me to help my community and others through my faith and compassion. I am Jewish, and GCU teaches students to accept everybody regardless of whether they are a different religion or race from me. References
