By Maintaining A Certain Level Of The Nations/Aged Care Facilities Recent Laws And Regulations
There are many opportunities for us support workers to improve our work procedures and productions to meet the level of our moral and legal work roles. As a support worker, we can make sure that we are giving our clients the most excellent or finest care that we can possibly give ( Duty of care ) by keeping ourselves updated on recent or latest laws and regulations in the country. Support workers are also allowed to work along side their fellow co-workers to create policies and practices that meets the highest level of ethical standards in the aged care facility. Finally, by being updated with the latest advancements in the aged care facilities, support workers can make sure that they give their patient or clients the best possible treatment whereby we can participate in furthering our education and professional development.
The Aged Care Facility Can Create Policies And Procedures With The Support Workers To Meet The Highest Ethical Standard.
It is important that as a support worker, our clients receive the best care that we can provide and it must meet the level of duty of care that is required by your organisation. It is important that as support workers, we must also understand and know the current rules/laws and regulations in the country. Support workers are obligated to follow the national standards for support care and its education. Each state in Australia has its own laws and rules in which how the support workers meet the required standards. It is our job, as support workers to be knowledgeable about these rules and its laws so that we can apply it in our workplace.

Support Workers Can Continue Our Studies And Career Development.
By furthering our education and professional development, it is a way of being updated on the latest laws and regulations in the country. Support workers can learn about new stuffs by attending workshops, conferences, seminars and many others. To stay updated on the latest news and developments around the area or country, support workers can use the internet to explore new ideas provided by other professional aged care facilities or organisation. By doing this, support workers are making sure that they give their clients or patients the finest care possible with the latest advancements that we learnt through education and the internet.
Working with Fellow Support Workers To Create Policies And Procedures To Meet The Aged Care Facilities Ethical Standards.
Another way of improving ethical standards in the workplace could be by cooperating with fellow support workers to create new policies to enhance work practices. In order to create policies and procedures that meet all of the patients or clients requirements, support workers can work together with medical specialists that are not employed by the aged care facility such as a nutritionist, pharmacists, physicians and many others. By doing this, support workers can guarantee that all of their clients or patients are receiving the finest care that is possible and meets the level of duty of care required.
Support Workers Can Be Taught The Importance Of Their Client.
As a support worker our patients or clients are of upmost importance. We should be able to recognize the patients needs including what they are thinking, this helps improve the support workers ability. We should always be aware of any conflict of interest in the aged care facility between clients and their support workers, or an issue regarding a support worker and a client such as arguments and many others. Any issue regarding the client must be shared to the supervisor and should be addressed in order to prevent any negative impact on the client or patient. Working with fellow support workers is best suited for a patients care and is necessary. It is also important that a support worker understand their professional boundaries and how they are able to relate it to their patients or clients is very important.

A Support Worker, Through Individual And Collective Effort Must Maintain, Establish And Work To Improve Ethical Environment Of The Workplace That Are Safe For Quality Health Care.
As a support worker, the standards of the aged care facility should be outlined within or outside the workplace that should dictate our ethical job roles to care and mandatory reporting cases such as any form of abuse. It is important that as a support worker we should understand the safety and quality for the best patient care outcomes. We should always be aware of the surroundings in the workplace to help prevent any dangers from occurring to any of the patients in the facility.
Support Workers Should Practice Compassion And Respect Towards Their Clients For Their Dignity, Worth And Their Unique Attributes
As a support worker, we must respect all individuals, and allowing dignity in regards to care giving and positive communication. It is important that support workers treat their clients and the clients families with respect. Support workers should understand the professional guidelines in communicating and working with fellow support workers and the clients relatives. It is also important that the support workers know that they have the right to decide on their participation in work or the care of the patient.
Being Transparent With Ethical And Legal Policies So that Employees Or Support Workers Make The Right Choice.
It is an important job role that the aged care facility or organisation teach its support workers the ethical and legal consequences of their job role. Support workers sometimes lack information regarding the laws and procedures of the aged care facility and as a result, they may be likely to make decisions that could have ethical and legal consequences without them as support workers fully realising the effect of the choices they make.

The Aged Care Facility Should Provide More Support For The Aged Care Workers To Abide By The Ethical And Legal Policies.
Sometimes, when support workers are not provided with enough assistance from their aged care facility, it can be very challenging for the workers to obey the ethical and legal standards that the aged care facility has placed. As a support worker, it is possible that many fellow co-workers are not aware of the policies and procedures of the aged care facility, or we sometimes do not realize the consequences of our actions. As a result of this, we run the risk of maybe accidently violating ethical and legal requirements made by the aged care facility.
