PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY:
At the core of my beliefs and philosophy for early childhood education lies a profound alignment
with the transformative power of the Montessori approach. I believe that every child is unique and capable, posessing a drive to explore, learn and develop to their fullest potential. Just like Maria Montessori believed, I find that a holistic view to education that intertwines a child's physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth is essential to how a child learns bests and also learns to trust themselves and their instincts.
Central to this philosophy is the recognition that family is an essential part of a child's educational journey. I strongly believe that a united family/school partnership enriches a child's experience and lays the foundation for a beautiful transition between the home and the classroom. Collaborative communication is key and helps ensure that the child's needs, interests and cultural background is respected and integrated into the learning process.
It is my belief that children learn best when they are engaged and motivated. Play is an integral part of this and helps them experiement and learn from the world around them. I believe as an educator, my role is to guide, facilitate and observe. I am more interested in helping a child navigate their interests than to push coursework that they might not engage with. I also believe its important to help children cultivate independence, empathy, respect and communication with adults and peers. My goal is to ignite a love for learning in each child through meaningful experiences.
Values:
1. Observaton and Respect - I value the power of observing each child to understand their unique
learning style, interests and development. By respecting each child's individuality, we create an inviting environment that supports them emotionally and cognitively.
2. Hands on Learning - Hands on learning is the pathway to self discovery and understanding. Engaging with purposeful materials helps children explore concepts and fosters a love of learning. It also fosters trust in the child for themselves and their capability.
3. Collaborative Communication - As the saying says: "It takes a village". I want to be part of the
village and encourage interaction and communication between the educator and parent but also between the child and their peers. Children should learn from eachother as each child is unique and has something to teach, wether they realize it or not.
Mission Statement:
"Our mission is to provide a nurturing and enriching environment where young minds can blossom. Always dedicated to fostering a love for learning, independence and meaningful development in each child under our care.
Our purpose is to create a safe and stimulating space where children can explore and grow at their own pace. We want to embrace each child's individuality and help them embrace their differences and their similarities as well.
As a child care facility, we are committed to offering families a trusted member of their village and a partner in their child's education.
We celebrate diversity, uniqueness and honor your child. We hope to cultivate empathy, love, kindness and cooperation in each child and develop a sense of pride and responsibility in each child we meet.
We are dedicated to enriching the lives of everyone who comes here".
