Rebecca Marian LUOA THE GIVING PROJECT
Giving Scripture Keeper 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver"
The Lives of Givers -How do you think the people who knew these two givers were affected by their giving? They felt like they had to give more because of how much the others gave. They were unsure that they gave enough. -What do you think they learned about God in this process? They learned about the principles on giving and how money is not something they need to hoard for themselves, but to give willingly. -How do you think these people grew in their faith or changed in this process? I believe that they understood about how valuable it is to give to others and how God blesses cheerful givers.

Spontaneous Giving -What is the difference between spontaneous giving and intentional giving? Spontaneous giving is when you do not plan what you give. Intentional is when you plan ahead of time to give. -Which type of giving is harder? Which type of giving is easier? I think spontaneous is easier since it comes straight from your heart. Intentional is harder because it is something you need to think hard about and then you could get stressed about the amount you give. -What can you learn about yourself through spontaneous giving? I think you can learn about how much you care and are happy to part with for the benefit of others. -What can you learn about God through spontaneous giving? We learn how God uses us to help others. He guides us to give unpredictably.
Intentional Giving I was an intentional giver when I planned before a church service to give more than 10% into the offering basket. In the future I could plan to give to donations or charity organizations. I learn how much I am willing to give and how much I trust God to guide me. I learned that God can use me no matter how much money I have. I can give my time and energy to help others as well.
Generosity I talked to my father and asked him for generosity advice. My dad told me that he sets aside money purposely to give and help others. In that way he has had the financial means to help struggling Christians in the church. I have now taken my fathers advice and am starting to save money to help those that need it.

Your Giving Opportunities The way that I have been giving is helping my grandmother and relatives. I have done more than asked around the house and have made a nice dessert for them. I learned that spending time doing meaningful things for family blesses them and myself. They receive help and I get to spend time with them not just sitting around but helping out. I learned that God works in many ways and that when working I do not need to receive anything back because I am giving a small portion of my time and it blesses others, the trade off is worth it.
