2 Abortion Debate Abortion is a continuous controversial debate that touches on medical, legal, religious, moral, and legal aspects of society. In the medieval period, issues such as abortion, and infanticide were analyzed in the family planning, gender selection, population control and the patriarchal society context. According to the WHO report, between 2010 to 2014, it is estimated that 36 abortions per 1000 occur every year to women between fifteen to forty-four years. In the developing nations. However, the abortion rate has declined significantly in the developed nations but has received an upsurge in the developing countries up to now. A debate about treating abortion as a legal issue has sharply divided people across the world in both the permitting or illegalizing of abortion. This division has often led to a clash in setting the standards for moral order. Abortion has attracted multifacet explanations with varying standing points ranging from, social class, political, medical, and economic aspects of societal views. Abortion is a topic that is controversial and complex that I research because of its important impact on healthcare, ethics, and society. Even though I am conflicted on the topic, it is vital to explore the various arguments and perspectives surrounding the topic to foster discussions that are informed and develop an understanding that is comprehensive of this issue that is complex. Several developing nations usually entrench and modify their abortion law by expanding the scope and ground through which abortion is permitted. Social class manifests itself in comparison to developed nations and undeveloped nations. Developed nations consider abortion as discouraging and as such should not be highly policed but should otherwise be left for the individual's exploration ( Greasley, 2017) . Whereas, in developing nations where laws tend to be rigid with poor healthcare systems, women hardly go to a health facility for safe abortion and cannot afford contraceptives.
3 Abortion is underpinned by social class in society and this loss of the meaning of abortion fuels class conflict. Access to safe abortion influences how abortion is legalized by law. For instance, women may qualify for abortion legally but may not access safe services while other women access safe procedures like the use of contraceptives ( Greasley, 2017) . The most significant development regarding the safety of abortion is the high use of medication abortion that have an essential effect on abortion-related mortality and morbidity The Bible makes it clear that it is not acceptable to murder their fellow human beings .” Do not commit murder”. This implies that killing an innocent child is an abomination religiously and in the sight of God. Though some people claim that abortion kills just a clump of cells and not a human being it is imperative to remember that life starts immediately after conception. The debate about when exactly human life starts attracts different opinions. Others believe that life begins after birth, other people argue that it starts when embryo turns into a person while the rest believe that life starts immediately after conception. It is ridiculous to argue that a fetus is just a clump of cells and not a person. In the healthcare facility, a debate may arise in consideration of illnesses and disabilities of the child and the expectant mother and this can pave the way for abortion. modern screening tests may disclose serious illness before the birth of the child, and when the infant is detected to have little chance of surviving. Parents in this regard make rational decisions to abort the child to avoid future suffering or death of the mother. It is apparent that in most cases infant's life is undermined in consideration of the mother's life ( Sanger, 2016) . The argument behind is already more productive than unseen children that might pose future health problems. However, I believe that a person cannot decide about the life of another person but it is God's duty. Similarly, abortion weakens the cervix which in turn will increase a woman's risk of future deliveries. One-

4 induced abortion increases the menace for succeeding births. Although safe and affordable abortion is being implemented in developed nations, the associated risks associated with medical processes will not change no matter the price. However, no one should be obliged to carry a pregnancy to the delivery point if it is against her will. According to WHO, whenever abortion is conducted properly through recognized methods, abortion is an intervention that ensures health care is attained. Abortion is a central point in sexual and reproductive health care ( Sanger, 2016) . Safe Abortion can also be conducted when the pregnancy was not necessary or intended for instance pregnancy as a result of rape may be aborted because the act was unlawful. Restrictive laws may results in unsafe abortion and hence leading ultimately to death. Research shows that when access to safe abortion is restricted, unsafe procedures dominate, and the mortality rate increases too. Unsafe abortions are dominant in rural and undeveloped residences where people can only afford bitter herbs and other physical ejection of the fetus which is even more risky ( Berg, 2017) . Ideally, more than 85 % of abortions are not noticed by relevant stakeholders and agencies because they take place in informal places. In conclusion, proponents of legal abortion emphasize the medical aspect that abortion is a safe healthy procedure that protects and ensures life. However, abortion bans threaten the life of pregnant women who will be scared by the law to seek safe abortion and this results in fatal and hidden repercussionsA good number of people are pushing for the prohibition of abortion and not taking into consideration how the life of the children will be after they are born. On the other hand, the opponents of legal abortion focus on the religious values of society and emphasize that abortion is murder since life begins after conception.
