One thing that surprised me during the CITI modules was the extent of the regulations and guidelines surrounding research involving human subjects. I had no idea how much attention to detail and investigation went into making sure that subjects were treated ethically. There were many similarities between the CITI modules and the ANA Code of Ethics. Both stress the significance of upholding each person's rights and dignity, keeping confidentiality, and gaining their informed permission. They also stress the importance of doing research ethically and making sure that all risks and benefits are fully considered. I can see many applications for this week's content to my nursing practice. It is crucial for me to comprehend the moral standards and laws governing research involving people because I am a nurse. Having this knowledge will make it simpler for me to carry out the study ethically while also defending the rights and welfare of research participants. Additionally, understanding the ethical considerations in research can help me critically appraise research studies and determine their validity and reliability.
