2 Investigating the Integration of Wearable Devices into Nursing Practice for Patient Health Monitoring in Connecticut Title: Investigating the integration of wearable devices into nursing practice for patient health monitoring in Connecticut Research Question How can wearable devices be integrated in nursing environments for improved patient monitoring in Connecticut? Hypothesis The integration of wearable devices into nursing practice in Connecticut will lead to improved patient health monitoring, resulting to enhanced healthcare outcomes and increased patient satisfaction. Introduction and Background As noted by Anikwe et al. (2022), the field of healthcare is experiencing advances in technology which are providing vital tools for delivering better patient care. Among these technological advances, wearable devices are gaining prominence and hold the potential to transform nursing practices in Connecticut. This research proposal aims to evaluate the integration of wearable devices into nursing, aiming to understand how they can boost patient health monitoring and improve the quality of healthcare in Connecticut. Connecticut's healthcare system faces numerous challenges. While striving to provide high-quality care, it contends with resource constraints and an aging population. According to
3 Wu and Luo (2019), wearable devices, such as smartwatches and health sensors, proved an opportunity to modernize patient monitoring and reshape the roles of nurses. Objectives and Aims The study aims to fulfill the following objectives: 1. To evaluate how the integration of wearable devices affects the accuracy and efficiency of patient health monitoring in Connecticut's healthcare. 2. To identify data security and privacy challenges associated with the use of wearable devices in nursing practice. 3. To examine the effectiveness of training programs designed to educate nurses in the proper use of wearable devices for patient health monitoring. 4. To understand patient and nurse satisfaction with wearable device integration. Significance of the Study The study aims to elevate the quality of patient care and health outcomes. By exploring how wearable devices can assist in keeping an eye on patient health, the study can find ways to better handle ongoing health conditions, spot issues early, and provide quicker help when needed, leading to healthier patients. The study is a game-changer for nurses. It can provide nurses with valuable tools and knowledge, making them even better at their jobs. As they adopt wearable tech, it could make healthcare smoother and more effective. This can also help healthcare institutions know how to allocate resources wisely and improve the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery. Additionally, it plays an important role in keeping patient information safe and private, ensuring that healthcare organizations meet regulations and ethical standards.

4 Research Method The study will use existing research and literature to explore how wearable devices are integrated into nursing practice for patient health monitoring. This approach involves a thorough examination of scientific studies, healthcare articles, and official documents to gather insights on this topic. The study will pay close attention to the details of each study, such as the number of participants, their findings, and any noteworthy information that can help us achieve our research objectives. The study will analyze the collected information, searching for common themes, patterns, and disparities among the studies. By comparing different research findings, the study will identify areas of disparities uncovering the reasons behind these variations. This method will generate a comprehensive understanding of the impact of wearable devices on patient care and nursing practice. Ultimately, the research will provide valuable insights and evidence-based recommendations for enhancing healthcare through the integration of wearable technology, all while ensuring ethical data handling and acknowledging any research limitations along the way.
