HISTORY The profession of nursing has evolved with time in past 150 years. It started with the services of Nightingale in mid-1850s and gradually attained a professional significance during 20 th century[ CITATION Poo191 \l 1033 ]. As nursing profession correlates with religious beliefs, so Catholic Christianity gave this professional a great significance and established nursing educational institution in 21 st century. The purpose of these institutions was to build a strong foundation of commitment and ethos in nursing and healthcare services[ CITATION TMa22 \l 1033 ]. The success of Catholic Nursing system inspired many big enterprises to offer nursing services to communities and hospitals, and more professional standards were established for nurses regarding hours of work, fee schedule, professional criteria and ethical standards. Catholic Nursing BELIEF As per Catholic religion, nursing and other healthcare services require strong connection between nursing staff and human beings (patients), for which spirituality has identified as an essence or central component of health and healing (Hawthorne & Gordon, 2019). The Catholic education guide nursing staff about the importance of their role in society. As per Catholic Beliefs, the nurses must take of all patients for the sake of God, and they must not feel hesitant or show hater while serving to the patients. They are also responsible in taking ethical decisions when needed, during which the biased approach or discriminatory perceptions must not work as barrier or hurdle in their professional responsibilities. Along with this all, nurses must fulfil their all duties by considering it as their religious practice, and must not show negligence to any act. Specifically, they must focus on the quality care to ensure that every patient is treated with high standard services, and must remain moral and ethical while making decisions [ CITATION BER20 \l 1033 ]. NURSING CONSIDERATIONS For any healthcare provider or nursing staff, the ethical values are of great significance. The word, Ethics, come from Greed word “Ethos” which means character[ CITATION Sto201 \l 1033 ]. The nursing staff must focus on the right and moral actions while making decisions regarding their patients. Ethical play very important role in healthcare sector to make good judgements and decisions based on the ethical principles and values associated with religion and humanity[ CITATION Tia22 \l 1033 ]. For this purpose, the Nursing Associations have also developed the Code of Ethics for the nursing staff, according to which all nurses must focus on four major principles while on duty; Autonomy, Beneficence, Justice, and Non-maleficence. This means that nursing Staff must respect the autonomy of every patient, and show respect for the dignity and attributes of the patients. They must protect the right, safety, and health of the patient. Also, as per standards [ CITATION Pat101 \l 1033 ] . , nurses have authority to take decisions while keeping morality and ethics at priority. nurses must collaborate with other healthcare professionals while making decisions to protect human rights and reduce health disparities.
