ASSESSMENT ASSIGNMENT 1 Assessment Assignment Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation
ASSESSMENT ASSIGNMENT 2 Assessment Assignment The ability of the assessor to take into consideration all pertinent factors in the patient's circumstance determines the validity of diagnostic methods. A Caucasian female high school student of 15 years old with an anxiety and weight problem, who lives in a dorm with a roommate of normal weight, will be evaluated in light of the relevant health issues and hazards. This evaluation will concentrate on social and academic factors that enhance her risk of weight-related disorders due to the severity of her illness and the crucial need of obtaining an adequate health history for the patient. The report will conclude with a discussion of the parents' suggestions on how they may be more proactive in watching for signs of improvement in their daughter's health. Health Risks and Issues When a person is underweight, it can lead to a variety of health issues and possibly put their life expectancy at risk. The patient's low body mass index is the source of concerns regarding her delayed growth and development, impaired immune system, increased risk of heart attack, and cognitive deficits such as memory loss and difficulties focusing (Drosopoulou et al., 2021). Underweight young adults are more likely to experience health issues, some of which can have serious consequences for their daily lives. Underweight girls are more likely to have a number of health issues, such as osteoporosis, dental decay, dry skin, hair loss, and a compromised immune system. In the study participants who were underweight, a lack of vital nutrients such as estrogen and testosterone in women as well as other necessary nutrients for movement and cognition were also demonstrated to be markers of nutritional deficiency (Singh et al., 2021). The patient's underweight poses problems in and of itself, but her anxiousness adds another layer of psychological and physiological distress to her situation. A student's drug usage and other potentially harmful behaviors are more likely
ASSESSMENT ASSIGNMENT 3 when she is anxious, which can have a severe impact on her academic and social life (Drosopoulou et al., 2021). Extra information relating to these diseases must be collected during patient intake in order to accurately identify underweight and mental health concerns. Information for Further Assessment During the examination, doctors will be able to get a better idea of the patient's overall health and whether or not she is experiencing any weight-related health issues that could complicate her care. Academic program constraints, sleep habits, environment change, and kids' perceptions of the healthiness of prepared meals outside the home are all elements that should be explored in order to better understand the environmental and social dynamics at play. To further refine evaluations, patients should be prompted to reflect on the psychological, social, and occupational costs of their excess weight (Barbaresi et al., 2020). The likelihood that a treatment will be successful is increased by determining and addressing the underlying physiological, metabolic, and psychological reasons of a clinical problem. Therefore, this information can be utilized to identify the causes of the adolescent's declining psychological and physical health. It is the responsibility of the clinician to ask appropriate questions without adding to the patients' emotional distress. Clinicians need to be mindful of their patients' and families' cultural, social, and behavioral contexts during the assessment process (Jallow-Badjan et al., 2020). That's why doctors shouldn't ask leading inquiries that could make parents feel like they're losing control over their kids' health care. In order to better understand the peer pressures that are ultimately fueling the patient's weight-related health issues, the assessment should focus on this topic. The doctor should explicitly inquire with the patient and the patient's parents about the following matters in order to assess the patient's mental health: 1. What gives you the impression that your roommate is healthier than you?

ASSESSMENT ASSIGNMENT 4 2. Is your weight healthy, and if not, what steps do you plan to take to increase it? 3. What number of meals do you consume each day, and how healthy do you consider them to be? Strategies to Encourage Parental Involvement in the Care of Adolescents The physician should encourage the adolescent's parents to take charge of her diet and exercise outside of school hours because this will increase the likelihood of the treatment plan being successful. Educators and resource centers are the most effective tools for encouraging parents to take a more active role in their children's health (Shaw et al., 2021). The problem can be solved by informing and encouraging the patient's parents to adopt more consistent and healthy eating habits for their daughter. Parents may be inspired to take an active role in promoting the health and welfare of their kid by learning about mental health resources that could assist the adolescent deal with the social, psychological, and scholastic difficulties that cause frequent weight loss (Drosopoulou et al., 2021). These methods are effective because they address the root causes of the issue and give parents the resources they need to raise healthy, properly-fed children in spite of the difficulties they encounter. Conclusion In order to identify and address the social, environmental, and academic aspects that contribute to the issue, health issues related to the patient's weight should be assessed and diagnosed. Asking the right questions and knowing the patient's history might also help in choosing the right care. In order for patients to feel comfortable discussing their worries without being afraid of retaliation, it is crucial to establish a connection with them and their loved ones.
