REFLECTION IN ACTION 2 Reflection in Action When I enrolled in MSN-563 “Evidence-Based Inquiry” for Scholarship and Practice course, I was excited to learn much new and interesting information. I know this course provided me with many opportunities to enhance my skills and knowledge to be an advanced practice nurse. I went through its outline before attending the classes or regular lectures of this course, which made me familiar with it. I was well-prepared to attend this course’s classes. I had set some goals for this course. Some of the main goals are to gain detailed knowledge and the ability to become a professional in my field. Another primary goal may be to understand more than 95% of the topics presented in the unit and connect them to relevant theories in the area, as well as to receive a good score. I’d be put to work investigating experimental and descriptive research methodologies. The course material will include an understanding of statistical methodologies and critical data analysis to verify evidence. The integration of literature and scientific knowledge within nursing science is examined. I reflect on some of the most important topics I learned during this course. Thoughts on EBP I had some basic knowledge regarding evidence-based practice before attending this course. But this course’s lecture enhanced my knowledge at a different level about the EBP. The support materials provided by professionals helped me understand this topic in detail, which has great importance in my future career. As a nurse, it is obvious that there are protocols that must always be followed in everyday activities, and one must examine them to minimise any harm that may result from failing to follow procedures. Nonetheless, I discovered that using evidence-based methods allows me to review studies to understand better the dangers and efficiency of diagnostic tests and treatments. EBP allows me to incorporate patients into their treatment plans[ CITATION Bad22 \l 16393 ]. It also allows for

EBP, I believe, fosters an inquisitive mind- set among health workers, prompting us to ask, “Why am I doing things this way?” Is there any evidence that can help me accomplish this more efficiently? Through this course, I am discovering that EBP includes the integration of exploration evidence, inside evidence, clinical skill, and patient inclinations into the care of every person. As a nurse, using EBP in such a way appears like an easy decision! Of course, I believe that my patients should get high-quality care and have incredible results. Ideally, they will get back to their earlier degree of work or, more noteworthy, once completely recuperated. I feel that this course is a decent buddy course to investigate. Now and again, I thought about how my office concocted some of the conventions and rules we keep, like urinary catheter and blood bonding conventions. Aspects of implementing EBP that I never dissected in the course include the expense, timetable, staff schooling, and hardware/supplies, which may be expected to work with the essential practice change. I likewise feel that I now have a more profound comprehension of what is implied by “evidence-based practice”, its motivation in medical services and particularly, the nursing calling, as well as techniques to assist with executing practice “real-life” clinical circumstances. Understanding or comfort level with statistics in nursing research It was one of the most challenging areas or topics of this course. I face many challenges to understand the statistical information in normal life. But now, I have to become familiar with such information to succeed in my professional career. By embracing nursing research, I feel that I will want to find a clinical response. I likewise comprehend that I can utilise measurements to decide if it is viable to nurse intercessions of their decision. For example, through measurements, nurses can tell that neither supplanting intravenous liquids nor organisation sets before seven days can lessen diseases. Creating and sustaining an Evidence-Based nursing environment Before this course, and after learning about EBP, I did not know how to use EBP in the nursing environment. This course also taught me to integrate EBP into healthcare sitting to provide more effective care services. EBP refers to the careful and sensible application of current best evidence, clinical knowledge, and patient values to inform healthcare decisions. It is a medical practice founded on sound research and conforms to high quality and safety standards while concentrating on the patient’s needs[CITATION Ren19 \l 16393 ] . I knew this strategy was employed in our day-to-day patient care, but I didn’t know how it was applied. Evidence-based practices aren’t always easy to put into practice at facilities. Some establishments may be short on resources, organisational experience, or staff. Despite these obstacles, hospitals should make every effort to incorporate evidence-based processes that help patients receive the best possible treatment.
