How does this article connect quality and safety competencies (QSEN) that guide practice? Around the world title roles and duties vary among advanced nurse practitioners (ANP) to describe nurse practitioners, certified nurse specialists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives. Quality and safety have been shown to be a priority around the world now that ANP cares for patients at an advanced level. Titling and titling protection may limit the ANP globally and healthcare should consider broadening their outlook since healthcare seems to be shifting towards universal healthcare. ANPs are seemingly becoming the solution to a dynamic and complex healthcare system. In many countries, higher education, or master’s degree prepared ANPs is the minimum requirement emphasizing the advanced level of decision-making and responsibilities (Wheeler et al., 2022). This journal identifies the need for consistencies regarding titling and credentialing which draws concern to the public (Wheeler et al., 2022). Identify a component of the article that resonates with you. Advanced Nurse Practitioners are the future of affordable and accessible healthcare worldwide. Therefore, globally countries should come to an agreement on titling, title protection, and role consistencies. ANPs can participate in healthcare, education, and research at a much larger scale. This can be challenging globally, but if the U.S. could allow practice feasible within the states much easier, ANP could practice at a much broader scale. Additionally, educate the public through conversations, media, television, talk radio, or podcasts about the excellent care ANPs provide. How do the competencies of QSEN define the advanced practice role? This journal identifies key competencies that define the advanced practice nursing role. Education in most countries requires at least an advanced level of education such as a master’s degree with previous experience as a registered nurse for 2-7 years and as far as a doctorate degree (Wheeler et al., 2022). Most countries have regulations and a credentialing process to ensure the provider is competent and remains competent. The provider must complete training, continuing education, and evaluations. Discuss specifics of how QSEN changes as you transition from RN to ARNP role and practice. This journal clearly points out the importance of transparency, consistency, safety, education, titling, and credentialing among ANPs worldwide. The QSEN's goal is to facilitate excellent, safe, and cost-effective care to patients. The organization realizes how effective ANPs are at achieving this goal. Therefore, regulatory models are set in place to allow for growth in the ANP field to encourage stakeholders to shape the foundation of healthcare. The QSENs explain the importance of APNs becoming policy makers therefore influencing change in the quality of healthcare effectively, and their ability to gain support from patients and the community.
