Our approach is to research if dominant institutions in Canada has done enough in healthcare to foster inclusivity, cultural competence, and equitable care to people of different cultures. We will focus on two areas which are Education and Government. For the Education part, we will try to find out if Canada medical education is providing enough cultural competence training, language training, and diverse clinical experience so the medical graduates are equipped with cultural sensitivity to understand and respect patients with different cultural backgrounds. For Government part, we will find out if healthcare services provided by government are staffed with cultural sensitive workers with diverse cultural backgrounds, how well it is integrated with specialized care like clinics focused on particular cultural groups or the integration of traditional medicine.

This article is a good journal on explaining how elderly immigrants with ethnic minority background may face different barriers to access medical services. It shows what problems the dominant institutions failed to solve. The challenges stemming from differences in culture, individual perspectives, and situational difficulties were all connected to unique culture, values, and beliefs, carried by older Chinese immigrants. Their deficiency in dominant language causes them being unknown of medical service availability. They also show distrust of the current medical services due to conflicting values and having someone to trust. It would be a example for our case study and our suggestions for improvement.
