Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Death of painting came when the art of painting was evolving changing from the traditional style of painting to another thing. Your reply was well written and you explained why you believe that painting has not died and rather evolved with the times. Great Job. 37 words Permalink Show parent Re: Discussion Forum Unit 8 by Roger Anazco - Wednesday, 1 November 2023, 8:41 PM Hello Chukwunweike, | completely agree that painting has not disappeared, but has evolved and remains a vital form of artistic expression in the context of contemporary art. The works of artists such as Gerhard Richter, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Julie Mehretu exemplify how painting has adapted to changes in technology and artistic aesthetics. The interaction between painting and other contemporary art forms, such as installation art and video art, has created fertile ground for artistic experimentation and innovation. The notion of the "death of painting" in the 1960s and 1970s may have been a reaction to new trends, but it has proven to be a time-limited idea. Painting remains a powerful and ever-evolving form of expression that continues to challenge and enrich the contemporary art world. Blessings. Greetings.
