2 ENNEAGRAM TEST PAPER What is the Enneagram Test? The Classical Enneagram Test is a personality assessment tool that aims to categorize individuals into one of nine distinct personality types. Based on ancient wisdom and modern psychological research, the Enneagram system asserts that each type has a unique set of core motivations, fears, and beliefs that shape their perspective on life and their behavior. The test typically involves answering questions about one's behavior, thoughts, and feelings to determine their dominant personality type. What personality number and type are you? What does this mean? After completing the Enneagram Test, I got an Type 2 personality on my results of the test. The Type 2 personality on the Enneagram Test is often referred to as the "Helper." Individuals with this personality type are known for their warm and empathetic nature, and their strong desire to be appreciated and loved. They often put the needs of others before their own and have a strong sense of empathy and compassion. They have a strong drive to help others and to make a positive impact on the world. However, this drive to be helpful can sometimes lead to a tendency to neglect their own needs and to become overly attached to others. At their best, Type 2 individuals are loving, generous, and selfless, while at their worst they can become codependent and lose their sense of self. Understanding their own motivations and setting healthy boundaries is key for Type 2 individuals to thrive and lead fulfilling lives. Do you feel like the results of your personality test were accurate? Why or why not?
3 ENNEAGRAM TEST PAPER After taking the test, I would say that the results of the Enneagram Test are extremely accurate. Throughout my life, a lot of my interactions, behaviors and habits have been rooted in an intrinsic want to help other people. I constantly say to friends and family all the time that my happiness comes from making other people happy and fulfilled. Personally, I believe a large part of this comes from how I was raised and how my parents’ personality types are. I would say both my mother and my father are Type 2 personalities, which them utilizing to help me and love me has helped to mold and develop my own personality in my own opinion. What are some strengths and weaknesses of your personality type? The Type 2 Personality on the Enneagram Test is known for its strengths of empathy and compassion, as well as its generosity. According to Hudson (2023) "Type 2 individuals are often highly empathetic and compassionate, able to put themselves in others' shoes and understand their needs and emotions." Owens (2023) also notes that Type 2 individuals have a "deep desire to be loved and appreciated, which often leads them to be giving and supportive of others." However, this desire to help others can also lead to some weaknesses, such as codependency and a loss of identity. As Hudson (2023) states, "Type 2 individuals can sometimes struggle with codependency, neglecting their own needs in their desire to help others." Owens (2023) similarly notes that Type 2 individuals can "become so focused on others that they lose their own sense of identity."

4 ENNEAGRAM TEST PAPER Share one personal story that illustrates your personality type is accurate or not accurate. One time I can think of is during high school, I constantly would help and tutor my teammates on my football and lacrosse team for no money or community service. There was legitimately no incentive or gain for me except just being able to help my teammates and help them improve their grades in school and to cause them to improve their chances at college. In turn, I began ignoring my own assignments and started to see my own grades and transcripts slipping just so I could make sure everyone else thriving. I think this is a classic example of both sides of the “Helper” personality, seeing the ability to help and love others but also ignoring your own self needs.
