1 Manning issues in Bco FMT name school class instructor Date
2 Manning in Bravo FMT has been an issue since the reorganization from engineers to combat engineers. There have been a lot of vacancies and the lack of MTOE slots for MOS. Bravo FMT struggles with completing maintenance tasks assigned to them due to the fact they don't have the equipment, tools, or trained individuals to work on certain pieces of equipment (DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY, 2020). Along with not having enough personal. With the correct trained individuals and proper equipment, the Bravo FMT would be better prepared to complete the mission they are tasked with. Up until recent years there has been no need for certain MOS in the bravo FMT. With reorganization of the unit there comes some conflict on what MOS are needed to complete the mission. Bravo FMT is a small team of specialized individuals that work on wheeled vehicles as well as construction equipment and combat engineer equipment. Within the equipment bravo BEB Owens there are Bradley fighting vehicles, various types of construction equipment, and specialized tools like robots that need specialized tools to work on. The tools required to work on NVG, Thermal sites, and route clearance robots include a GM TK 105, purge kit, controlled environment, and electrostatic discharge mats (DA, 2020). These specialized tools and toolboxes are issued due to parallel lines in an MTOE that is 94 fox specific. Even with these special tools the equipment still needs to be in an environment that is climate controlled and free of dirt to open the internals of electronic equipment. Some ideas that have been brought up to fix the deficiencies the bravo FMT has is to place dual MOSQ individuals in the ranks to fill in voids in the manning roster. The unit would need to order the specialized tools and equipment needed to work on electronics and optics that fall under the scope of a 94F soldier. The special tools include GM TK 105 electronic tool kits,
3 electrostatic discharge mats and purge kits (DA, 2020). With the correct trained personal and equipment Bravo FMT would be better prepared to complete the mission they are tasked with.
