LABORATORY #1: REPORT Schematic Drawings and Software Install Part 1: Cadence Software Installation Part 2: Creating Schematics for Labs Part 3: Microcontroller Schematic Drawing
Abstract: The purpose of this lab is to install Cadence CIS and NXP Kinetis, download and upload the parts libraries to Cadence, and create three schematics: a simple schematic and two microcontroller schematics. Experiment System Specification: 1. For part 2, using the parts library, create a schematic by wiring all of the components together as demonstrated in the image below. 2. For part 3, using the parts library, create a microcontroller schematic by wiring the switch box and resistors and LEDs and resistors to PORT D as shown in the image below.
3. Create another microcontroller schematic that is the same as above but wire the LEDs and respective resistors to PORTC. Schematic Diagram: Part 1: Cadence Software Installation No schematic. Part 2: Creating Schematics for Labs

Part 3: Microcontroller Schematic Drawing Port D
Port C Technical Issues and Resolutions: 1. I had issues with installing Cadence CIS. Following the instructions, installing Cadence CIS through the unattended.cmd did not work for me. I resolved this by opening up setup.exe and installed the SW. 2. I had an issue with installing NXP Kinetis Design Studio. There was an internal error with the webpage on the NXP side. When I tried to install the design studio, I got an error message “The software licensing and registration system is unable to verify your user profile. Please contact NXP ® Technical Support for additional help.” I have attempted to verify my account several times. I talked to the NXP IT support and they had to raise a ticket for my case since it was an error with their webpage. We are currently trying to resolve this issue. Our TA Chinmay uploaded the SW executable on canvas, so I installed the posted Kinetis executable. The software is now installed. 3. We struggled with getting all of the parts for the library, but we figured this out by uploading all of the libraries from the library and pspice folders to Cadence to get all of the parts to create our schematics. Conclusion: Overall, we installed Cadence CIS and familiarized ourselves with using Cadence and Cadence Libraries to draw schematics and microcontroller MK64F schematics. We used the library to obtain the electrical components and wired the parts together.
