Detailed visual representation of the relationship between piping equipment instrumentation and flow. 10. Explain how the Distillation process works. The distillation process exploits the different boiling points of the components of a mixture. As the mixture is introduced into the distillation tower, the heat from the boiler initiates a transformation. This thermal energy prompts the more volatile elements to ascend towards the upper reaches of the tower, separating from their fewer volatile counterparts.
