Bethany Heater Professor MacDonald Active Reading Activity September 15, 2021
Annotation There are many different types of reading strategies in order to help one understand the text. For example, annotating is one of the many effective ways to understand a critical piece of information. Annotating is when you add comments, questions, and ideas to the text. I chose annotation because it allows me to be an active reader and I am able to put my thoughts and questions in the text. Also, while reading it is easy to dose off, but with annotating I am able to stay focused and look for important information. I read up to chapter 15. As I read, I realized that this piece of literature was deep, full of meaning, and mystery. Annotation impacted the reading of the text by allowing me to understand what I was readying and being able to pause and think about what it was saying. I was able to grow my knowledge and go beyond what the text said and form ideas of my own. In all, annotation helped me better understand the text.
