F.
How do the standards and objectives align (or do not align)?
In this lesson plan standards and objectives are not aligned. Standards are focused on Approaches to Learning and Creative Expression Through the Arts domains. A favorable
addition for the standards will be the ones that are written in Curriculum observation. [Mathematical Thinking: VD1 Recognizes and names typical shapes for 3-4 years; VD1 Recognizes and names two-dimensional shapes of different sizes and orientations. Furthermore, the assessment does not match the standards of the lesson plan.

Lesson Packet Review Kindergarten
A.
Title and description of the lesson. The title of the lesson is Phonemes and Elkonin Boxes. In this lesson, Elkonin Boxes along with a manipulative (in this case playdough) are being used to mark each sound of a given word. The teacher will begin doing a demonstration of how to “slow down”. She will scaffold the idea of saying each sound individually. After that, the students will receive playdough, which will be employed later to identify the sounds. The teacher will show visual cards and segment the sounds of
the pictures. The students will work on one card at a time. Later, they will label the card and use the playdoh to indicate in sound in the Elkonin boxes. This procedure will be repeated with four visuals and the teacher will review each child’s response individually. To finish students will be asked about what they learned, and the teacher will talk about the importance of speech and pronunciation. B.
What standards are being addressed? The standard that is being addressed is LAFS.K.RF.2.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). C.
What is the learning objective?
The students will use Elkonin Boxes to segment phonemes in a given word with 75% accuracy.
D.
Which type of objective is it (cognitive, psychomotor, affective, or language)?
It is a language objective.
E.
Identify the ABCD in each of those objectives.
A-audience
B-behavior
C-condition
D-degree
The students will use Elkonin Boxes to segment phonemes in a given word with 75% accuracy.

F.
How do the standards and objectives align (or do not align)? The standards and objectives align because both are focused on the same area of development (language) or academic concept. The lesson clearly addresses sounds and phonemes. Another element that shows that standards and objectives are aligned is the assessment. As we can read in the reflection of the teacher, she met the objective (the students will use Elkonin Boxes to segment phonemes in a given word with 75% accuracy) with all students; and even two of them were able to reach 100% mastery on the assessment.
