Round 1 Executive Summary- The Trouble Team Kai, Matt, Lou, Juan “A shark in the water, you swim with the lil' fishes” -Lil Baby
The strategy taken this round was to provide a balanced foundation from that could be leaned upon for future rounds. In order to do this, three areas were focused on heavily and these were production, marketing and finances. Production was emphasized by trying to make sure there was the least amount of un-satisfied demand, while also preparing for future rounds by starting the construction of a total of 8 new plants. Marketing was emphasized by trying to appeal to each of the markets based off what the case description said each market segment responds to in terms of prices, features, and promotion. Finally for finances, the goal was to reduce liabilities by transferring money from the European subsidiary to the parent company, then paying off long-term debt, and then finally issuing some new shares. Our marketing strategies look like they paid off, since we were able to record over $70,000,000 in sales, but something that still needs work would be finances where we had $11,000,000 in unplanned short term debt. From this round, we learned that spending quality time tailoring your products for each market segment will go a long way in being able to capture significant market share. Our results show that we have a solid starting point, but something that can must be kept in mind for the future is being able to pivot to new demand for other product lines demand and being able to achieve better economies of scale in order to achieve lower costs. This will allow us to achieve higher profits for future rounds as well as increase our cumulative total shareholder return.
