Introduction Hello everyone! Thank you for being here today. My name is Stephanie Tisby, and I’ll be your new manager going forward. Before we get started, I’d like to briefly share a little bit about myself. I have been in retail for over 10 years with 4 of those being in management. I began with working cashier and worked my way to management. Together I’m confident we can all work together to assure the product quality is always top tier, customers are satisfied and when possible, achieve up sales. I’m looking forward to working with all of you. 3 Management Review

My Leadership and Management Style 4 Management Review Servant leadership is an approach to leadership that prioritizes the needs of others before oneself. It involves leading by serving others, supporting their growth, and enabling them to reach their full potential. I believe servant leadership is a powerful and effective leadership style because it creates a positive and inclusive work environment. By valuing the input and well-being of team members, a servant leader fosters trust, collaboration, and motivation within the team. This leadership style also promotes empathy and understanding, allowing leaders to better connect with their team members and address their needs. Overall, servant leadership has the potential to create a harmonious and successful work culture where everyone feels valued and empowered. Transformational leadership is a leadership style that focuses on inspiring and motivating individuals to achieve their full potential. It involves creating a vision, setting high expectations, and providing support and guidance to help others grow and develop. Transformational leaders are known for their ability to empower and inspire their team members, fostering a sense of trust, collaboration, and innovation. This leadership style encourages individuals to challenge themselves, think critically, and take ownership of their work. By fostering a positive and inclusive environment, transformational leaders can drive organizational growth and success.
Followership 5 Management Review In today's dynamic business environment, the concept of followership in management has gained significant recognition and importance. While much emphasis is often placed on leadership, the role of followers should not be overlooked. Followership is the act of actively participating and supporting the vision and goals set by leaders, while also providing valuable feedback and constructive inputs. It involves understanding and aligning oneself with the organization's mission, values, and objectives. Effective followership can foster a positive work environment, enhance teamwork, and contribute to the overall success of an organization. By embracing followership, individuals can contribute their skills, expertise, and ideas to help achieve the collective goals of the team and drive organizational success.
A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don't necessarily want to go, but ought to be. -Rosalynn Carter

Decision Making Model Management Review 7 There are two decision making models that I like to use: Rational Choice Model and the Bounded Rationality Model. The Rational Choice Model suggests that individuals make decisions by carefully weighing the pros and cons of each alternative and selecting the one that maximizes their expected utility. This model assumes that decision-makers have complete information, can accurately assess the likelihood of different outcomes, and make logical choices based on their preferences. While this approach seems ideal, it may not always be applicable in real-life scenarios, as it assumes perfect knowledge and ignores cognitive biases that can influence decision-making. The Vroom-Yetton decision-making model is a valuable tool that can assist organizations in making effective decisions. This model provides a structured approach to decision-making by considering the level of participation and involvement from subordinates or team members. By evaluating various factors such as the importance of the decision, the leader's knowledge, and the potential impact on team members, the Vroom-Yetton model helps leaders determine the appropriate level of participation required. This model promotes collaboration and empowers individuals, ensuring that decisions are made with the right balance of input and authority. Overall, the Vroom-Yetton decision-making model can greatly enhance decision-making processes within organizations, leading to better outcomes and increased employee engagement.
Emotional Intelligence Emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in effective management. It involves the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. Why is emotional intelligence important in management? Firstly, it helps managers build stronger relationships with their team members. By empathizing with their emotions and understanding their needs, managers can create a positive and supportive work environment. Additionally, emotional intelligence enables managers to handle conflicts and difficult situations more effectively. By staying calm and composed, they can foster open communication and find mutually beneficial solutions. Overall, emotional intelligence empowers managers to lead with empathy, build trust, and create a harmonious workplace. Management Review 8
Forms and Functions 9 Management Review In any organization, forms and functions play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and achieving goals. Forms refer to the various structures, documents, and processes that are in place to facilitate communication, decision-making, and workflow within the organization. They can include things like job descriptions, performance evaluation forms, meeting agendas, and project management templates. On the other hand, functions refer to the specific roles and responsibilities that individuals or departments have in the organization. This includes tasks related to planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling activities to achieve desired outcomes. The forms within an organization act as a foundation for efficient communication and collaboration. By having standardized forms, everyone in the organization can understand their roles and responsibilities more clearly. Forms also help in streamlining processes, reducing errors, and maintaining consistency in how tasks are performed. They provide a framework for documenting important information, capturing data, and tracking progress. Functions, on the other hand, define the areas of expertise and specialization within an organization. Each function contributes to the overall success of the organization by bringing unique skills and knowledge to the table. By clearly defining functions and assigning roles, an organization can ensure that tasks are distributed appropriately, and there is a clear understanding of who is responsible for what. This helps in fostering accountability and effective decision-making.

Communication Practices 10 Management Review The communication process plays a vital role in effective management. It is a dynamic and intricate process that involves the exchange of information, ideas, and feedback between individuals or groups within an organization. Effective communication ensures that everyone is on the same page, goals and objectives are clearly understood, and tasks are carried out efficiently. It involves various steps, including encoding, transmitting, receiving, decoding, and providing feedback. Open and transparent communication fosters trust, collaboration, and a positive work environment. In today's fast-paced business world, effective communication is crucial for successful management and achieving organizational objectives.
Organizational Mission, Vision, and Goals Management Review 11 The organizational mission, vision, and goals play a crucial role in effective management. They serve as guiding principles that steer an organization towards success. The mission statement outlines the purpose and reason for the organization's existence. It communicates the organization's core values and how it intends to make a positive impact in its industry or community. The vision statement, on the other hand, paints a picture of the desired future state that the organization strives to achieve. It sets the direction and long-term aspirations of the organization, providing a sense of purpose and motivation for its employees. A strong vision statement inspires and aligns everyone towards a common goal. Goals, both short-term and long-term, are the specific objectives that an organization aims to accomplish. These goals are derived from the mission and vision, serving as measurable targets that drive progress and success. Setting clear and attainable goals helps in focusing efforts, allocating resources effectively, and tracking performance. In summary, the mission, vision, and goals provide a framework for effective management. They establish a sense of direction, purpose, and motivation for the organization and its employees. By aligning actions and decisions with these guiding principles, organizations can achieve sustainable growth, fulfill their purpose, and make a meaningful impact.
