Post an analysis of how different leadership styles can be beneficial. Select the leadership style that you
least
identify with and describe one positive attribute of this style. How might
you integrate this attribute into your leadership? Then, explain how you would learn about the needs of your team and the leadership style they prefer to work under. Based on what you learn, to what extent would you adapt your leadership style?
Northouse claims that authoritarian leadership is comparable to theory X and is often advantageous as it effectively sets norms and gives followers direction (Northouse, 2020).Democratic leadership has its benefits as well.As per Northouse's analysis, this leadership style generally has a positive impact and leads to the group members feeling satisfied, committed, and united towards the group's objective (Northouse, 2020). The democratic leadership style is closely associated with the idea that grants followers authority while assuming
that workers are capable of carrying out their assigned tasks. Strong relationships and a healthy work atmosphere are fostered by leaders that prioritize servicing their team, and this increases employee loyalty and happiness. Leaders that put their team's needs first build strong relationships and a positive work environment, which boosts employee loyalty and satisfaction.
The effectiveness of a leadership style might vary based on the circumstances and surroundings. For example, a democratic leadership style encourages collaboration, brings together a variety of perspectives, and gives everyone a say in how decisions are made (Northouse, 2020).. This strategy could be useful in a group setting that encourages innovation and fosters a range of viewpoints. Situational leadership is a form of leadership that adjusts to changing conditions by tailoring strategies to the particular requirements of a given scenario (Northouse, 2020).. The benefit is that it fosters a dynamic and adaptable team due to its capacity to adjust to a broad variety of situations.
When contributing an example of a leadership style, research would be carried out to determine the requirements and optimal leadership style of a community health primary care team using focus groups, interviews, and surveys. By attentively listening to team members and learning about their individual strengths and limitations, this will help me determine the ideal leadership style for the group. Visionaries are leaders, they are strategic, determining the company's future course (Forbes Coaches Council, 2017). With that being taken into consideration, I would have to go to the extent of taking the results into account, and alter my leadership approach. If the company encourages individual contributions to decision-making and cooperation, I may adopt a more democratic or participatory leadership style.
