ORG/716: Organizational Theory And Design Wk 5 Discussion 1 Errinda A. & Lofti B. (2021) explain that Lewin’s three-stage model is considered the theoretical foundation of planned change management. This model involves three main steps for managing planned change: unfreezing, transition, and refreezing. “Unfreezing” consists of destabilizing the status quo by creating the need and buy-in for change and preparing for the upcoming change. “Transition” involves moving to the desired future state. “Refreezing” takes place after the implementation of the change, resulting in a new culture, behaviors, and practices. In my current organization the credentialing team has recently gone through some changes at the national level and at the local level. The credentialing period has changed from two years to three years, certain departments need extra privileges that were not previously included within their scope and the leadership team now have assistants who are involved in the process more so than their predecessors. T.P is the current supervisor and has help this position for the past five years. T.P. had first-order implications, she thinks the new changes are better for the teams and can improve care for the patients at the facility. B.B. has been on the team for fifteen years. He had second-order implication because he believed the way that it was should not be changed because it was working. He thought that changing it would take to much time and be more difficult than before. R.M. has been with the team for eight months. He had first-order implications because he still has a lot to learn, so the training is something that he believes can benefit him. REFERENCES Errida, A., & Lotfi, B. (2021).
