Taryn Meeks M20290987 Chapter 1: Main idea: Is a Supervisory Role Right For Me? Rationale: This should always be the first question one should ask themselves. Not everyone is made to be a supervisor, and it is important to know if you fit the role. It is important to ask yourself if you are ready. Yes, one always wants to move up and have more power and more pay, but at the same time you have to ask “can I do the job effectively or am I the one that fits the job position the best?” Making a list of pros and cons is always a good way to see if the position is best for you. After all, you will be leading others and oversee a much larger picture. To me, you do not ever want to be put in a position where one feels you are stereotyping. In todays world, this can be perceived in many ways, and one may feel you are stereotyping. Therefore, I feel it is important to fully understand and make sure everyone on the staff is aware of the issue and how to face it head on and correctly.
