Jessica, I wholeheartedly agree with your assertion that professionalism is a fundamental component in an educator’s quest to be taken seriously in the workforce. Professionalism can help us become better versions of ourselves in order to best support our students, the educational environment, and the school community. I also appreciate how you highlighted that professionalism can be positively impacted by a Christ-centered approach that exemplifies the fruit of the Spirit. As stated in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength” ( New International Version, 2011). Thus, through professionalism, educators are able to be effective shepherds that model the fruit of the Spirit (Van Brummelen, 2009). References New International Version . (2011). Zondervan.
