Managing Change One change effort I witnessed was implementing new system software in my father's workplace. The purpose of installing the new software was to streamline the organization process and improve efficiency and productivity. The intended change was to eliminate paper products in the office and switch to a paperless process, a digital approach to work. The outcome of the change was positive as the shift to the new system reduced the amount of waste produced in the office and increased efficiency. Lewin's three-stage change model can be used to explain the process and the change undertaken by the organization. The organization's first step was to unfreeze, where it recognized the negative impact of paper products on the environment and the office's budget ( Tracy, 2020) . The second step of the theory is the transition, which involves reorganizing work processes and embracing technology to reduce paper usage. The last step is refreezing, where the organization internalizes the new workflow through regular training and team meetings ( Tracy, 2020) . The process of change went well due to the thorough planning of the change, which included educating the staff on the reasons behind the change and the adoption of the new system. The approach enabled staff members to understand the benefits of the change and how the new system would work. Notably, what went wrong in the implementation of the new system is that some employees were resistant to the change due to their lack of familiarity and understanding of the technology operations. However, the management addressed the issue by providing special training sessions that helped the employees adapt to the new system. If I were in a leadership position, I would ensure a smooth transition by communicating adequately and involving all employees in the process during the implementation process. I would have also provided training and support to those facing
serious challenges adapting to the new system. Furthermore, I would thoroughly analyze the potential technical issues and take measures to prevent them from causing any delay.
