Agenda Item: Discussion
The meeting was held with David Brown to discuss the following areas related to his performance and development in the role of Gym Manager at Bounce Fitness.
Reviewed the leadership, conflict-management, and communication competencies necessary for the
position of gym manager.
The demands of the position, including management of staff, control over day-to-day operations, and
financial accountability for the gym, were thoroughly discussed.
On developing his leadership and conflict-resolution abilities as well as enhancing team communication,
David's specific growth goals were reviewed.
David explained how he sees his present performance in relation to the demands of the job. Both his
strengths and opportunities for development were emphasised.
Specific areas for improvement were noted, including scheduling, effective communication, and staff
dispute resolution.
Action plans with specific strategies to address each area for improvement were agreed upon. These consist
of attending skill-development classes, putting in place better communication procedures, and conducting
frequent team meetings.
