Procedures:
Worlducation organizational policies and procedures
are
related
to
the
business
sustainability.
Organizational policies of Unilever includes the
policies related to the climate actions this is due to
their
corporate
social
responsibility,
by
implementation of these policies they want to prevent
the environment and the planet from pollution.
Moreover they also contains the policies relating to
the nature protect and regenerate that includes the
policies such as Unilever sustainable agriculture code,
responsible sourcing policy and people and nature
policy. Waste free world policy is also one of the
policies used by the Unilever. It also uses the policies
related to the positive nutrition, equity, diversity and
inclusion [1]. They also contain policies related to the
human rights and business responsibility. Their
business responsibility includes the policies such as
board of business principles, people and nature policy,
responsible business partner. Talking about the
procedure of the organization, Unilever contains
organizational structure related to product type
division. On the basis of its product the organization is
divided into different components. These components
are personal care products, home care products and
other related divisions [1].
Particularly talking about this project where an issue of
organizational structure, lack of training and lower
motivation among employees is under consideration
the policies related to the business responsibility are
applicable to such a situation. Unilever is the
multinational organization and people who are
employed with it belong to different culture [2]. This is
the main reason that why workplace communication

challenges are faced by the union labour management
and as the human resource manager it is my
responsibility to manage search challenges by
providing proper training to the employees and the
employers to work together for the achievement of
business objectives. It is observed that the interaction
between the employers and employees are very low.
Due to which not proper feedback is provided to
employees that causes lack of motivation among
employees and they feel exhaust to work in such the
workplace environment [2]. Employees are not giving
attention to their colleagues or help them in their task
it is all due to the lack of communication and
communication skills among them. It is a responsibility
of the organization to arrange the training programs to
guide their employees about the importance of
communication skills at workplace and how both
employer and employees can develop these skills by
continuous learning [2].
Summarise legislative requirements
Which legislation applies to your project/issue and/or workplace communication?
How do they apply?
Legislative Requirements Summary:
Unilever and employees are required to follow the law reclamation of each country in which they are providing their business operations. Unilever is also committed towards diversification in its working environment that includes the respect and mutual trust. Unilever is also focused and responsible for the performance and reputation of their business. They are also committed to promote and recruit the employees on the basis of their abilities, skills and qualifications that are required for the work to be performed by them. They are also responsible to provide the healthy and safe working environment to their employees. It is also in the legislative requirement of the company that they will not use any
kind of child labour or any forced labour. Towards the employees they are also committed to develop and enhance the skills and capabilities of the employees individually by providing them training sessions for career development. Unilever is also put concentration
towards the individual’s dignity and the rights of the employees towards the freedom at their workplace. They are also committed to have a good communications with their employees through consultation procedures and the information based on the company [3]. The legislative requirement are also related to the public activities that must be BSBXCM501 Project Portfolio Assessor v1.1 March 2022

contributes to the society, it also includes the consumers by providing them high quality products and services without compromising in the quality of the product. Moreover the legislative requirement of Unilever also includes the innovation strategies to meet the needs of the consumer that based on sound science and to rigorous standards of safety [3].
The legislative requirement that is applicable to our situation which is focused towards the workplace communication that is poor in the union labour is the relation of company when it employs and their commitment to maintain a good communication with them. It is applicable do this situation because it is the
responsibility of the union labour to fulfil all its commitment made with the employees to retain the talent. It is observed that the employers do not interact with their employees and not provide them a regular feedback. Did not even monitor the working of their employees and not listen to their issues at the workplace [5]. These factors are due to poor communication between the organizational structures.
It makes the organizational structure we and company
will be unable to provide and achieve its estimated goals and objectives. As the HR manager it is my responsibility to provide the effective solution and strategies to the management. The company first of all needs to review its own legislative requirement related to the workplace communication to meet its end and get good image of the brand recognition in the market [4].
Research information needs of the business/organisation
Provide a written summary of your research.
What are the internal information needs?
What are the external information needs?
Are there any special needs/diverse cultures to consider?
How do the needs relate to broader organisational goals?
Which sources did you use to obtain Research Information Needs:
The internal information needs that are required to mitigate the associated issue in the workplace communication include the information from the staff. For this purpose, different research papers that are made on the employees satisfaction games the workplace communication at Unilever are also used to get the information to find the main issue. Employees are the people in the organization who have proper knowledge about the happenings and causes behind them [4]. Certain information is also needed from the management do analyse what are the factors that make them unable to interact with employees. For the
collection of all these internal information Internet sources are used to get connected where the people who belongs to the Unilever.
The external information that is required to analyse the main reason behind the in effective workplace communication at Uniliver includes the previous research work of the researchers. It makes me able to BSBXCM501 Project Portfolio Assessor v1.1 March 2022

information (at least three, including digital sources)?

compare the previous performance related to the workplace communication improvement at Unilever with the current situation. It is observed that as the size of the Unilever goes on increase it becomes difficult for its management to maintain effective communication system across its organizational structure [5]. The company itself cannot achieve the objectives unless it takes all its workers along with it and it can only be done by having a good relation with
them and the relation starts when there is a healthy communication between each department and working level. The most effective internal source to get information is the customers. The customer can tell more about the product quality and service of the Unilever employees as they get interacted with the employees first. They can provide feedback that either
they are happy with employees or not. If employee is happy it makes the customer happy as well. The external source need for information to solve this issue of workplace communication gap between managers and employees directly relates to the organizational objectives as they want to improve the livelihood of people of this society and they can only do it by getting infected with them [5]. The first thing is to communicate the point of view with the others and to listens the others as well. Different sources are used to collect the information such as Internet, social media and journals. Instead of focusing on the one country Unilever branch there is a need get the information from the people who are working in Unilever from different countries to get large amount of data that includes the factor of culture diversity [4].
It helps to examine that either the culture diversity and cultural ethics and norms are the main reason behind the lack of communication effectiveness or not. And if it is so, did Unilever higher authorities must
arrange seminars on my training programs and other related programs to make deer employees and employers get familiar with the diverse culture and adopt the culture of the country in which they are working.
Develop
communication
protocols
Consider the identified
information needs and
organisational goals to
develop at least two
communication
protocols.
Communication Protocols:
By considering the information requirements and the
organizational goals of the universe the following
communication protocols are developed [6]
1.
Unilever must use whiteboards and pin up
board for the internal communication for stop to
make any announcement related to the
workplace or changing in the regulations of the
organizational policies it is the responsibility of

the managers to display the information on the
board to create a link between employees and
the hire executives. In this way if the employees
are not agreed with the terms they may tell it to
the managers so that they can tell the directors.
In this way the communication level of the
organization can be improved
2.
For the internal and external communication
Unilever must use different sources such as e-
mail, letters and faxes to convey its messages
to particular group of paper. It makes a direct
connection of the company’s management with
employees and in case of any ambiguity or
issue employee can also e-mail the company.
Adapt Communication Protocols:
Unilever must adapt the communication protocol such as
workplace signs for the employees who are deaf to
communicate effectively with them
Unilever should also adopt theme communication protocols at
workplace that includes providing reports and memos I want the
Internet sources for internal and external purpose. By doing so
Unilever enters the employees about it operations on success in the
market. It also helps the researcher to make the research on the
communication structure of the organization for academic purpose

email might be sent by the administration to specific
gathering of representatives or for sharing the overall
data a solitary male is created and it is shipped off
every one of the workers working in a specific branch

the main communicator business decider of many
things and he is very good in this expertise. He is an
effective communicator and salesperson and presents
its latest model in the market by using appropriate
words. I am able to offer the expertise related to
communication skills in diversified culture. I can teach
the employees and employers how to develop the
communication skills continuously at workplace by
focusing on the organizational culture and learning
from the external sources [6]. Mentoring principles that I follow includes be available
when the commitment is made to be there on time.
Introduce the team by the possible collaborators and
other key contacts to make key workflow easier and to
achieve the required objectives. I also assess the
skills, attitudes and knowledge of the others when
offering them advice to generate a good
communication between [7].
I will motivate the employees working at the Unilever
to communicate with each other respectfully because
it makes them a good listener, by making no
interruption in the communication of others they can
learn the skills of patient and to be calm. Respectful
communication means not to be rude and listen to all
the aspects of communication at the workplace. I will
appreciate those who already communicate at the
workplace respectfully so that other will admire them
and also do the same which improves the
organizational structure and the communication
effectiveness [6]. It can be done by arranging the HR
training sessions for the employees and employers
using Internet sources to tell them about the
importance of respectful communication at workplace.
Every employee at the workplace needs to be get
attention of its manager, launch other to listen them
graciously, also want to be treated equally as other
employees and their opinions must be valued by the
others. By keeping in consideration needs of
employees communication can be motivated at the
workplace [7].

Section 2: Engage in workplace communication and negotiation
Prepare

selected
workplace
project or issue) must
be
conveyed
and

With whom will the
information

occasions)?
Preparation to Communicate Complex Information
and Negotiation of Outcomes:
The issue that is faced by the union labour is related
to its weak organizational structure due to lack of
communication at the workplace between higher
authorities,
managers
and
employees.
The
information that must be conveyed to the employees
and the employers at the workplace is related to the
factors that contribute in the poor communication
structure at the Unilever [8]. It is the responsibility of
human resources department to aware the
organisation’s people about the drawbacks or poor
communication at Unilever that affects their brand
image and brand recognition in the market.
Therefore it is negotiated with them to take the
training session and communication skills developing
online classes through Internet sources to develop
their skills that how to build a good communication

While working in different organizational culture in
which the colleagues are belongs to diversified
culture [8]. The information is conveyed to the employees about
the negative impact of poor communication on the
Unilever’s image in the market that leads to the
employee higher turnover rate because they feel that
their needs are not considered by the company
management and they are ignored. They don’t feel
job security while working in the universe and also
feel that their rights are also not given to them
according to the policies and procedures of the
Unilever and the employment agreement [9]. It will
be made clear to them that the management is
working hard to stay on their commitment and
provide the same benefits at the workplace that they
are committed before and contains in their legislative
policies. The company’s management should also negotiate
with the managers manage each of the department
operations and directs all of them towards the single
path that needs to achieve the organizational
objectives. For example at the workplace managers
feel that the employees are not listening to them
actively and do what they want to. In this way it is
their responsibility to restrict the actions of each of
the employees as it is their duty to monitor them.
But the continuous report on the improvement in the
communication structure in the organization helps
the manager to make it more effective and get the
desired outcome by listening to the employees issues
as well [9].

The different perspective that is of the wild noticing day reason
behind the communication gap between the employees and
their employers is also the organizational structure of the
Unilever. There is not a direct connection of employees and they
hire executives. Executives are also not involved or show any or
show any concern about the employee’s issues to get resolved
on time [9]. Due to which managers are free to do what they
