The Name of the Book and the Central Theme 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People' is the title of the book. Authored by Stephen Covey, this book is a personal development guide. Main Arguments of the Book An individual's success is largely determined by their characteristics, according to the author. In this regard, the author suggests how to succeed in life by being and acting accordingly. Several types of habits have been described and their effectiveness explained by the author. It is important to know what is important to one at any given time, according to the author (Trenberth & Hassan, 2013). A person can improve their objectivity, filtering, and intelligence by adopting these two habits. The Relationship between Managers and Employee Mutual trust, reassurance, and friendliness should characterize the relationship between an employer and employee. The author of this book recommends listening first and seeking to be understood, followed by understanding. It is therefore important for managers to listen carefully to the employees and to find out what they like and dislike. Subordinates do not like talking to their managers. The employee-employer relationship becomes misunderstanding due to this.
How is the Book portrayed? Throughout the book, self-development has been emphasized. There are several habits that can help a reader to succeed in life, which will be beneficial to them as they read the book. The book depicts seven good habits.
