Current Trends
King Edward VII College offers courses in management, marketing, human resources, and
international trade. The quality of the teaching staff and the latest technology in the course,
the strategic sense is addressed to the top. They are trying to turn their existing systems
into webinars, virtual classrooms, that is, fully online classrooms. Because they want to get
rid of the files strategically.
As a result of implementing the strategies it has determined, with the successful results
received, Brisbane and Adelaide will also open new branches. This is a sign that they are
growing in the Sunday environment of the education class which create the flexibility. King
Edward VII College's biggest goal is to become one of the leading professional training
providers that responds by leading the changing workplace by example and adopting
innovative business systems that can adapt over time.
Using Windows 7 and office 10 on their current training computers which will prove to be
up-to-date and innovative "King Edward VII College" in the assessment was used as an
internal source in the report. The information was taken directly from here.
Organizational Culture
The distinctive cultural characteristic of the college is its quality, collaborative, and strong
bond between team members. The mutual warm behaviour of the members is reflected in
the new members and students rather than the current team. This culture also brings
success because of its attractiveness. King Edward College should encourage the respect
to all culture among the staff, management, and students. Not only hiring the female
teacher, also need to hire the male with different cultural background, as a result the
environment of the college will be dynamic and will be more effective. Especially with the
new location, different cultural and nature student will be welcome in the college. This will
help college to target its goal. Employ more women in senior positions to add diversity to
the organisation. And the culture of following old pattern of thinking need to remove. The
College should give more focus on the current trends.
There are enough faculty members based on the number of students in the current system
and branch. And that makes the organization move right. But the college is going to
innovate in organization. They will also open two new branches. And it is inevitable that
this innovation will be influenced by stakeholders from the preparation process to the
completion process. The college currently prefers the filing system. All necessary
information and related files are created, sorted, and stored. If necessary, these files are
still referenced. In fact, they are trying to pour this system into a completely virtual
environment with the latest studies. Lecturers will be asked for more working hours and
organizational managers will have to do overtime. So, all stakeholders will need to work
harder on this transition.
Techniques and tools
The main resource needed to support innovation is finance. Because in the renewal
phase, changing systems, IT projects and employee overtime will result in new fees to the
college.
The other resources required for the renewal of my site will be human resources. Training
staff are expected to work increasingly at multiple locations. The HR department will be
leveraged on flexible work arrangement strategies and policies to increase the
permanence of staff and show employees that they live up to their values. Some tools are
as below:
Brain storming
During the brainstorming session, each group member is instructed to write down several
ideas anonymously on post-it notes or index cards. It serves two important purposes to

keep ideas anonymous: For starters, it prevents idea anchoring and any potential
personality biases. Second, it allows more introverted teammates to contribute to ideation
while remaining anonymous.
King Edward college management will plan and its step/process to implement the plan to
establish the collect in two different locations. Here, brain storming will help to find or
relocated the challenges, merits, and demerits, then the solution. Also, the adding the
different course model that are popular.
While brain storming, college should ask question to itself regarding the upcoming
challenges and problem. Then need to make a backup plan to overrule the problem. Staff
should be welcome for brain storming activities with the management term which might
generate the new idea and thought.
As a result, a broader range of ideas emerges that would not have surfaced if teammates
brainstormed collectively. The ideas are then distributed at random to the rest of the group,
who provide feedback and critique on each one. A team leader or management team can
also collect and sort ideas as an alternative.
Mind Mapping
Mind mapping is a graphical method for visualizing (or making) connections between
different ideas or information. Connections can often trigger new ideas and relationships
between ideas. Thus, mind mapping is a great way to generate new ideas and thoughts
and can be completed individually and in groups.
Because a Mind Map is primarily a visual thinking tool, using visual stimuli alongside your
thoughts and ideas will help your brain process information faster and draw more creative
associations between your ideas.
King Edward could generate an idea for opening their branch in two different locations with
the help of this technique. Not only that, but it could also plan regarding its goal objective.
From this technique, college could identify some backup ideas for upcoming challenges
and problem as well.
While mind mapping, college should make a step to complete its target. As we know,
college is opening new branch in two different location Brisbane and Adelaide. So, staff
including management term should have already plan on their mind to overrule the
possible problem and obstacles. There might be problem of discrimination, cultural conflict,
and lack of resources and so on. To solve these problems, in the meeting all staff including
management should do some mind mapping activities, and the ideas and thought should
be note down for future references.
Creative problem solving.
CPS entails approaching a problem in a creative, innovative, and unconventional manner.
The process encourages people to think in new, creative ways that will help you solve the
problem faster. This King Edward College could use CPS 7 steps to solve the issue.
Identify goals, gather data, formulating challenges questions, exploring ideas
among the staff and team members, requestion all the members to come with
solutions, acting plan and finally acting.
Kind Edward College will get overall an idea and its formulation with the help of this CPS
technique.
Using six thinking hats methods
This will help the management teams to work with all different nature of people in the
organization. Every people might have different thought and views. Using these six
thinking hates, King Edward could choose right person and in right position which will
generate the merits ideas for the development of college. WHITE hats categories staff
could deal with data, facts, and figure, RED- Emotions and feelings, BLACK- caution and
risk, YELLOW- optimism, GREEN- ideas, and BLUE- control.
Page 4
of 15
Here, college should hire and put in them in different position/ section of the college with
the nature of people. If the people with white hats who always focus with data and figure,
then he/she need to be hire as an accountant. And people with red hats need to be hire as
a recipient/ student service so that they could hear the problem of the student and provide
them great service. Black hats people need to hire as coordinator of the college, so that
these people could high light the possible risk and its cause, then college could solve the
problem. Yellow hats people can be hire as a lecturer, so that he/she will not discriminate
among the students. Green and Blue hats people can be management team so that
overall, they could control whole college with the upcoming challenges and its solution plus
conflict.
Barriers and Risks
King Edward VII College has stronger faculty members based on its competitors. But the
innovative world is a far cry from pages of documents and files. Barriers include failure to
accept innovation or insufficient resources for innovation such as finance. Together with
risks, these barriers will have a significant impact as failure to embrace innovation will
mean that the organization is not innovative or innovative enough and lags its competitors.
Lack of funding means innovation is not carried out or encouraged and once again the
company can fall behind. There poor communication among the staff and management is
another barriers and risks of college.
And the staff number is very low which leads the poor management. High workload will not
give the quality ideas and solution. As a result, college could lose its number of students.
Even the staff might leave the college and go somewhere to work. Disorganised
processes, not consistent with managerial decisions. Not always clear what my role is.
Lack of innovation despite organisational commitment to such.
In addition, students now do everything in a developing and changing world. Failing to
adapt to that doesn't move the college forward. That's why they're trying to turn the system
completely into an e- system. Will be able to attract the students in the market with the
advertisements and promotions they will make. It is very tempting for students to take their
education virtual in developing technology without dealing with pages and pages of
physical documents. In addition, different progress can be recorded by taking the demands
that can be developed from the students. In this way, they will take the lead in the market
thanks to the slogan' we apply the wishes of our students'.
Innovative workplace conditions
In this role, it is important that managers and management teams can identify specific
conditions for innovation and creativity. These can also be thought of as issues or
mechanism which impact – both positively and negatively – on innovation / creativity at the
individual and the collective levels. These conditions for, and issues that impact on,
innovation may span causal factors and issues relating to:
The ability to gain and respond to customer feedback.
Using the available resources.
Change to workflow and processes.
Emerging technologies.
Executive support for innovation.
New markets.
Organizational sociocultural circumstances and issue.
Technology change and convergence
Structure and design of work in the organization
Vision, core purpose and capabilities
New business models
The learning culture in the organization or the industry
Page 5
of 15
Government regulations, policy, or funding initiatives
Issues related to globalization.
Labour market and industry changes and restructures
These are the important conditions that need to research and issues that impact on
innovation. Research can be conducted in varies way. Some ways are as below:
By becoming aware of issues in the field in which we work – for example, by reading
college/ industry journals and websites, attending college/ industry events, etc.
By reading about issues affecting your organisation specifically – for example, by reading
past reports (in particular, your organization’s annual reports).
By speaking with people – both within, and external to organisation – about the issues
which affect the college generally, and your organisation specifically.
By reviewing the contend that we finalized from the research, then find the merits and
demerits points that can be generate and find the solution for demerits points/ situation for
worst case scenario.
Innovation drivers and enablers
Drivers are the factors or changes that impel innovation practice. They might include:
Globalization
Markets shifts
Allocate responsibilities: Making sure that everyone on the innovation team has a role.
This will motivate them to be creative and caring. Giving them the tools, they need and make sure they're well-trained on how to handle
innovation and become more productive. Set goals to achieve and ways to track progress. These will both encourage and support
innovation. King Edward should give equal responsible to all team members of the college.
Price and profitability
Technology change
The team: Creating an active team tasked with ensuring innovation is achieved drives
innovation. The team should be curious to learn more and humble to accommodate
different points of view. A high-performing team fosters innovation and keeps the
organisation competitive in the market.
Enablers are factors that help innovation overcome barriers. They may include:
Management Support: If the team members and staff will get the support from the
management to show off their ideas and view without any hesitation, then there will be the
high numbers of ideas and manpower and resources. Proper and friendly environment will
be there among all staff and management.
Collaboration among the team member and management will help in problem solving
which arise in the college. Using this factor, the challenges of King Edward open its new
branch in different location will be solved or will get support to solve the upcoming
problem.

Developing an innovation plan will be critical in ensuring that innovation is a vital and long-
term aspect of the King Edward College's operations. This is since there would be a
systematic approach to innovation in terms of goals, strategies, and activities, all of which
would be specific.
Timelines and duties are both important considerations.
Staff meetings that include brainstorming sessions are held on a regular basis. This would
be a critical component in ensuring that innovation is a vital and long-term aspect of the
King Edward College's operations. This is because existing communication/collaboration
activities, like as meetings, and would include approaches for stimulating creativity.
Offering online and blended learning. Providing face to face information sessions might be
another integration or the development of King Edward College. This will help college to
increase the number of student and more effective for national and international students.
Student could get change to give their time in their work as well. It will be more useful for
international students to live and sustain in this expensive city.
Maintaining effective communication channels with all colleges’ team members and
student to ascertain its requirements and then develop products and manage services
accordingly. This will help King Edward College to use a proper communication technique,
as a result, there will be effective and quality education.
King Edward should introduce a
new scheme to Employees who will be rewarded for coming up with innovative ideas. This
would be a critical component in ensuring that innovation is a vital and long-term aspect of
the College's operations. This is since employees would be rewarded for coming up with
new ideas, making them more likely to do so. Management will get more information and
creative ideas from the staff to fulfil its target. Even this will encourage the team members
of college to participate in all activities of college. This will also establish the friendly
environment and respect among all staff and students.
Sharing and contributing to knowledge, ideas and practices
Contributing and sharing knowledge, ideas and practices will play the vital role for this King
Edward College to achieve its target. As we know, this college is going to establish its new
branch in two different location Sydney and Brisbane might be more challenging with the
culture, nature and other. There should be clear and transparent of each activity and act
among the staff to have an opportunity to contribute innovative thinking and practices.
Some processes are as follows: Regular communication among all staff and management is required if innovation is to be
successful, and all employees should be proud of the accomplishments ascribed to creative
approaches. This could take the shape of a regular staff meeting in which innovative
thinking and practises offered or implemented by their colleagues are presented and
discussed. Although a newsletter with the information could be valuable, the benefits of
innovative thinking can be fully grasped by modelling and detailing the innovative process.
It's also crucial to get some training in problem-solving and creative thinking. Staff can
contribute to the growth of ideas through this process, which is why it is so vital as part of
contributing to knowledge, ideas, and practises. Providing training with more resources to
the staff members for completing their activities and research.
A vital first step would be to develop an innovation plan that would involve all employees.
This would be a helpful procedure since it would provide employees with a high-level
perspective of the organization's innovation goals. Establishing the collect in Sydney and
Brisbane and targeting all international students is first target if the King Edward college.
Participating of all employee and management with proper road map will lead to achieve its
objective and target.
Knowledge capture is also necessary in databases, learning management systems, and
registers, for example. When employees of this college have access to this information,
they may learn from it and stay informed about what is going on in the college. This will
Page 7
of 15
increase the number of participations, hence more ideas, view will generate. Even the
participating of student could be high. More people, more ideas which will create the win-
win situation in the organisation.
Innovative processes, practices and products/services
Some potential innovative practices and products/services that could be adopted are as
follows:
Developing and introducing an innovation strategy: To introduce innovation, it is necessary
to establish and implement an innovation strategy. This is because it demonstrates the
organization's strong commitment to innovation, as well as precise measures to meet
innovation goals, timetables, and responsibilities.
Regular staff meetings that include brainstorming sessions: I consider that the regular staff
meetings that include brainstorming sessions is essential for introducing innovation. This is
because it will help to generate new ideas along with feedback on the spot. On the case of
King Edward College, this will be more effective. All staff will get chance to bring their ideas
and opinion, thought on the relevant of topic. Opening new branch in different place will be
more challenging, so participation of all staff member will create positive thought, hence all
will be responsible for upcoming risk.
Training for staff on creative problem solving: Another essential thing is training for all staff.
Kind Edward College should come up with different knowledge base campaign to all staff
and student. Need to provide sufficient resources of teaching materials to all students and
teacher. There will be different nature and cultural background student in the class. Collect
should respect and treat equally to all types of students. Collect will provide training to all
staff regarding dealing with people. Staff will be fully trained for making all happy. Hence,
all possible conflict will be solved.
Rewards given for new ideas by staff: Employees should be rewarded for coming up with
unique ideas under King Edward's new system. This would be an important step in
ensuring that innovation is a long-term part of the College's operations. Employees would
be compensated for coming up with innovative ideas, which would encourage them to do
so. To meet this goal, management will solicit additional information and creative ideas
from the workforce. This would also inspire college team members to participate in all
collegiate events. This will help develop a welcoming atmosphere and mutual respect
among all employees and students.
Leadership style
A style of democratic leadership can contribute to positive and innovative thinking and
practice of, ensuring the involvement of all staff in the school group. In addition,
transformational leadership can be a leadership style that brings innovation and change in
effectiveness that helps leaders encourage, inspire, and motivate employees to shape the
long-term success of their organization. This can be achieved by setting an example
Promotes a strong sense of culture, ownership, and independence in the workplace.
Therefore, this creates the right conditions for innovation. King Edward will follow this
democratic style for positive thinking and practice. This will help college to answer some
possible doubt; what to do; how to do it and when it needs to be done.

King Edward VII College
Innovation Strategy
Introduction
Outline the strategy’s vision and objectives
The strategic vision is to develop an online learning platform for students to be a leader in
vocational education and training. The purpose of this innovation strategy is to document
innovation strategy implemented by King Edward VII College. The Strategy supports the
achievement of the goals set out in the college’s business plan and will ensure that
innovation is integrated into all our activities
Innovative practices, processes and products/services
The potential innovative practices, processes and product/services of King Edward College
are as follows:
Environment, workplace circumstances, access to tools and techniques or equipment,
funds, the proper employees, time for creativity, and the right workspace are all factors in
providing the resources for innovation to emerge.
Promoting high academic standards and have the appropriate level of quality assurance and
enhancement of the college.
For innovative ideas staff must spend 2 hours a week within work time. This would be most
likely to be at a time to suit each staff member and they could use the creative thinking
techniques they had training in. The rationale for this would be to incorporate time within the
workday and in a structured manner to facilitate innovation.
As a standing topic on the management meeting agenda, innovation will be discussed. This
would imply that innovation is usually a topic of conversation at meetings. The goal of such a
procedure is to make thinking about innovation a regular element of meetings.
Create and offer training on innovation. Staff would be trained to be able to apply creative
thinking and novel techniques. It could be done through blended learning, which combines
interactive, online learning with the use of a learning management system. The rationale
behind this would be to ensure that employees have the necessary abilities to create fresh
ideas. Conducting monthly surveys is crucial to improve innovation since it not only
improves employee participation in innovation but also provides extra innovative ideas.

Communication and consultation processes
Catching inventive thoughts and practices can be through utilizing apparatuses and
strategies, for example, conceptualizing and mind planning, conference workshops, input
structures, making layouts, putting away gathering notes, utilizing arrangements and
systems to help the catch of data and information. Moreover, Regular communication is
essential if innovation, and the achievements that are attributed to innovative approaches
are to be appreciated by all staff. Regular staff meeting should be held that give time to the
presentation and discussion of innovative thinking and practices that are proposed or
undertaken by their colleagues.
This process would give the opportunity for all staff to contribute to innovation, as well as
assist with knowledge transfer through sharing ideas. Regular training as part of
communication and consultation processes is also important. This allows the organisation
to communicate important information about innovation to staff. Regular reports on
innovation area also a great way of communicating, as well as consulting if the report asks
staff to provide feedback. In other hand, Active listening is a skill that can be acquired and
developed with practice. However, active listening can be difficult to master and will,
therefore, take time and patience to develop. ‘Active listening’ means, as its name
suggests, actively listening. That is fully concentrating on what is being said rather than just
passively ‘hearing’ the message of the speaker. Active listening involves listening with all
senses. As well as giving full attention to the speaker, it is important that the ‘active listener’
is also ‘seen’ to be listening otherwise the speaker may conclude that what they are talking
about is uninteresting to the listener.
Key performance indicators
The development and implementation of an effective evaluation system is an important
element in the innovation strategy. This determines how effective the innovation strategy
has been at enhancing individual and company performance and if the investment is
justified. The information generated from the evaluation should be used to adjust the
strategy or to decide whether it should continue in its current format.
Key performance indicators may include:
Number of new ideas generated: King Edward college could get new ideas and though
from the participation of all staff member regarding its achievement. There will be more
challenges for opening the college in new location. Without a creative ideas and support,
this task will not be possible. So, the new ideas and technique plus knowledge will be
required for making this task complete.
Financial measures such as increased sales and profits: Here, the financial measures for
King Edward College play vital role to be established in new location. All the business open
for making profit. Here, sales mean the quality education, and its goodwill to increase the
numbers of international and national students. More students help to collect finance from
Page 10
of 15
their fee structure. As a result, college could make some profit from these activities. So
financial measures are another key performance indicator.
Level of staff satisfaction: Of course, the level of staff satisfaction is another most important
key performance indicator. There is saying in Nepal, “If mother is happy, then the whole
family will be happy themselves”. If the management of King Edward could make their
employee/staff happy then that could lead the quality education. Only a satisfied staff
member could give their 100% effort on their performance. As a result, the college good
face and solve the upcoming problem and conflict in the college environment.
Level of student satisfaction: Student satisfaction is another indicator of key performances.
Only the satisfied student could bring the good result in their performance. This is only
possible, if the King Edward could provide good resources and study materials to the
student. Not only that, if the student will be happy, then they might refer their friend and
family to join the college. Hence, the number of students will be high in the college, then
college could make more profit and help them establish other branch in new location.

strategies, for example, conceptualizing and mind planning, conference workshops, input
structures, making layouts, putting away gathering notes, utilizing arrangements and
systems to help the catch of data and information.

More students help to collect finance from
their fee structure.
Recommendations
King Edward College should give more priorities on the staff performance other than
financial status. It’s already cleared from the beginning; college have low budget. Instead of
2 hours we all staff member should work at least 6 hours. There should be two-way
communication among the staff and management. Providing training and encouraging staff
member to participate in all internal and external activities of college.
It will be more challenges to King Edward College to open new branch in Brisbane and
Adelaide. Making sure we have identified techniques and tools that you will use to generate
new ideas and thinking relating to showcasing the innovation strategy to staff. Not only that,
but college management also need to focus on its key indicator of its performances. Level
of satisfaction of student and staff need to identify and implement on those thing ASAP.
Innovation Leadership Report
Leadership style and practice
Leaders' ways enclose how they attach with others with in and out of doors the corporation,
how they view themselves and their position, and to an extremely large extent - whether

they're successful as leaders. If a task must be accomplished, how does a specific leader
launched to induce it done? If an emergency arises, how does a front runner handle it? If
the organization needs the support of the community, how does a front runner set about
mobilizing it? All of those rely upon leadership style. The priority of leadership is to possess
interaction the right people, at the right times, to the proper degree in creative work. That
commitment starts when the leader modifies the role of employees.
Transactional leadership, as its name suggested, views leadership as assisted transactions
between leader and followers. Thus rewards, punishments, reciprocity, exchanges
(economic, emotional, and physical). In simplest terms, I lead this organization by paying
you and telling you what you would value more highly to undertake and do; you respond by
doing what you wish better to do and do efficiently and well, and the organization will
prosper.
Transformational leadership looks at leadership differently. A transactional leader thinks of
improvement or development as doing the identical thing better: a company that reaches
more people, a corporation that produces extra cash. A transformational leader worries
changing the world, whether only on a tiny low amount scale.
Give a short evaluation of how you will refine your leadership approach based on your
feedback and own reflection.
The notice should be addressed to participating staff members and must be sent via email.
It must identify:
The type of meeting (for example, face to face or teleconference)
The purpose of the meeting and any additional requirements
The place, date, and time of the meeting.
Advice that the agenda will be forwarded within three working days of the meeting.
Where a staff member is required to attend a meeting, but is interstate visiting clients,
teleconference arrangements should be made for that staff member in order that they can
attend the meeting. Staff members are to be advised that they will be contacted via Skype,
and that they must make themselves available on Skype at the appointed time.
Staff members who are unable to attend are expected to respond via email advising that
they are unable to attend. The notice of the meeting should also be used to remind staff of
the King Edward VII College meeting code of conduct as follows:
Everyone is expected to be on time for the meeting.
Meetings must be entered into all staff calendars to ensure that they are not forgotten.
Mobile phones must be turned off in meetings.
Laptops may only be used during the meeting to make notes or to refer to relevant sources
of information.
Everyone’s point of view must be respected.
The notice does not need to refer to each of the above points, but staff should be reminded
to review.
