I've been interested in skincare since the start of high school, and I have kept an extensive and morning and nighttime skin care routine since then I am highly focused on preventative skin care, in particular anti-aging I care a lot about the ingredients that I put on my face and body Skincare starting from a young age is proven to be beneficial, especially with products containing SPF I would like to learn even more about skincare from a professional in the industry so that I can potentially start my own company or skincare line one day

Research To make the most out of my research, I looked at various websites and read articles written by professionals in the industry, such as dermatologists that specialize in skin-related issues. I researched which products to avoid, which products are best for various skin types, which products give you the most for your money, the reasons for various skin-related issues, the most beneficial order in which to apply the products, the best skincare products to use on a daily basis, the results of doing skincare for years, and how to break into the industry when starting a skincare company or product line.

After conducting my own research, I had a phone call conversation with a friend of my mom's, Natalie Ariz, who owns several boutiques in the Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth area in addition to being a skin care and hair care expert and influencer. We discussed how to actually break into the skincare industry; and she recommends starting a company or skincare line that specializes in one specific idea that will remain a target goal for years to come rather than being a temporary fad.

I plan to create a skin care line which combines steps in a routine for a quicker skincare routine which still covers all of the necessary steps I plan to create a skin care line with SPF and sun protection in the actual makeup products themselves rather than just in the moisturizer or foundation I plan to start a skin care line that focuses on SPF and anti-aging skincare given that this will be a concern for people of all ages for years to follow and this would not be considered a trend or a temporary fad

I have always thought it would be really fascinating to be on the show, Shark Tank, so I would also love to grow my future company by possibly going on the show and having investors buy into the company to make it expand even further While I do still plan on becoming a management consultant at a Big Four after college, I would like to save up money after working for 5-10 years so that I can use my connections in the industry to start a smaller-scale company that would hopefully become increasingly popular

Current Plan As of right now, I plan to continue researching more about SPF and the effects of UV rays on the skin so that I can create a skincare line that specializes in preventing the appearance of wrinkles on the face and body. I want to learn more about which ingredients in makeup are most compatible with SPF, and whether this would be in a cream format or powder form. There is plenty of opportunity for innovation in this industry, and after conducting hours of research and having a phone interview with a professional in the industry, I am confident that I can actually make this happen after a few years of working in the corporate America. The popularity of skincare is growing consistently each year with celebrities and influencers promoting their routines and preferred products on all social media platforms. Since my TikTok actually has a decent amount of views, likes, and followers, I could also use this platform to help me reach my goal of creating this skin care line.

This activity really opened up my eyes to an area in which I was already interested but had not yet explored deeply beyond my own skincare routine After completing this activity, I feel like I really want this to be my real career because I now know enough to actually pursue my dream and to utilize my connections to be successful in the skincare industry
